Nine-tailed fox, mysterious fox and white fox first appeared in the totem belief of primitive religion. Shan Hai Jing recorded the Qingqiu nine-tailed fox. According to these ancient books, the nine-tailed fox is actually the totem of the primitive tribe in Qingqiu in the east or south. Shan Hai Jing says that it can "eat people", which shows its divine power in threatening the enemy and protecting the security of this tribe. It is also said that "the eater is not evil"-eating its meat should not be harmed by evil spirits. This is obviously the primitive witchcraft related to the totem belief of the nine-tailed fox, which believes that the nine-tailed fox has the magic power to ward off evil spirits.
From "Thousand-character Writing" to "God List"
Fox symbolizes the interests of future generations, and it is also the legacy of marrying the daughter of Tu Shanshi. Later generations regarded the "cannibal" nine-tailed fox as a demon. In the Six Dynasties, Lori noted Qian Wen Zi and Zhou Fa Yin Tang, and called da ji the nine-tailed fox. Shen Fengbang, a novel in the Ming Dynasty, gave full play to his theory, so he became the title of temptress.
In the history of fox culture in China, an unfortunate thing happened about foxes in the Han Dynasty, that is, they were demonized. Under the idea of "turning the past into the strange", the ordinary fox is no better than the dragon and phoenix unicorn, and it is difficult to maintain its sacred position. Although the worship of fox spirit and Tian Hu prevailed in the Tang Dynasty, it was already a demon god. Since it is a demon god, it is not as serious as the real god, and it is inevitable to run amok, just like a monkey without fruit. However, in the concept of the Tang Dynasty, the most powerful Tian Hu-Kyubi no Youko Tian Hu still maintained a decent manner. It's a pity that the glorious history of Kyubi no Youko Fox will come to an end after all, just because it has the greatest magic power, which ended later than other foxes, and because it has the greatest magic power, it became the most demon fox after being demonized.
Northern Song Dynasty
The nine-tailed fox was demonized at the beginning of the Northern Song Dynasty at the latest. Tian Kuang's The Scholars said that Song Zhenzong was a cunning man and Chen Pengnian was good at "flattering" the emperor, so "people looked at him like a nine-tailed fox at that time", which shows that the nine-tailed fox has become a bad thing in people's minds. It was also during this period that a famous woman in China's ancient history, said to be a nine-tailed fox, spread to Japan. This is Shang Zhouwang's concubine da ji. Song Zhaoling's Backstreet Record Volume 8: "Qiantang official prostitute, with good charm, is called Kyubi no Youko Wild Fox." There is an article "Be sycophantic" written by Dr. Jiang, saying that "Yin da ji is a nine-tailed fox". Be sycophantic records three years in He Kang (11kloc-0/year), which is equivalent to the period of Song Huizong. Visible China has said before. In fact, Bai Juyi in the Tang Dynasty compared da ji and Zhou Youwang's concubines who praised "can ruin people's lives" to fox demons. When the nine-tailed fox turned into a demon, it was only natural that Princess da ji, who confused Zhou Wang with a beautiful woman, was said to be the essence of the nine-tailed fox.
The book of Wu Wang's attack on Zhou Dynasty, the fairy tale.
Da ji became the fox of Kyubi no Youko, which is the perfect combination of super foxes. The description in the novel began with the storyteller "Cutting Zhou Shu" in the Yuan Dynasty, and the novel "Romance of the Gods" in the Ming Dynasty was further developed.
In the book "King Wu Cut Zhou", it was a "Kyubi no Youko Golden Fox" who absorbed the essence of da ji's soul and turned it into da ji through its empty skin. Da ji was finally forced to reveal his true colors by Jiang Taigong with a magic mirror after King Yin Ke, and then put into a bag and beaten to death with a raft. The reason why she went to so much trouble is because the executioner of the execution made her "charming eyes" unable to do it.
On the basis of the book of the King of Wu, The Romance of the Gods gave full play to the seductive nature of da ji, a Kyubi no Youko fox for thousands of years, and wrote many bad things she did. On the contrary, Shang Zhouwang's "both civil and military" is not too bad. Besides, there are loyal ministers and good generals outside, and there are virtuous ladies and queens inside. The mountains and rivers were stable. It was this Millennium Kyubi no Youko fox with nine-headed pheasant essence and jade pipa essence that puzzled him and made him lose his "authenticity". Interestingly, when da ji was beheaded, there was also a fascinating description, which was more vivid and detailed than the Biography of the Prince of Wu. The novel tries to play up how she charmed the execution sergeant "in a pile", and finally Jiang Ziya took her head with a precious gourd. Shan Hai Jing records that the nine-tailed fox has the characteristics of eating people, so it cannot be defined as a spirit beast. Spirit beasts only eat it, not people. Some scholars believe that the fact that the nine-tailed fox can eat people only shows that it can threaten the enemy, which precisely reflects the characteristics of protecting the gods. Combined with later stories, the nine-tailed fox is actually eager for human life. If the white fox wants to become a human, it has to go through thousands of years of practice. It is said that foxes. It is precisely because of the special feelings of Dongyi people for foxes that they and Pu Songling achieved great success.
Since then, some novels about the nine-tailed fox have come out. For example, the Jade-faced Fairy in the popular novel "Fox Life" in the Qing Dynasty was the mysterious Jade-faced Fox Fairy written by Kyubi no Youko, and was finally appeased by Lv Dongbin, and eight tails were cut off. The novel "Nine-tailed Fox" in the late Qing Dynasty is not about foxes, but about prostitutes-prostitute Hu Baoyu is nicknamed "Nine-tailed Fox". The novel says that the nine-tailed fox is the most lewd and charming, "especially worse than ordinary foxes", so it is compared with Hu Baoyu's "very lewd prostitute". In the Qing Dynasty, the concept of integration of fox and prostitute became popular. Prostitutes are foxes, and the worst prostitutes are of course nine-tailed foxes.
From the native girl of the nine-tailed fox to da ji of the nine-tailed fox, the sacredness and glory of the nine-tailed fox have been completely lost, and the nine-tailed fox has become the symbol of the most lewd, charming and bad woman. When Ximen Qing's first wife Wu Yueniang called Pan Jinlian a "nine-tailed fox", you knew what a vicious curse it was.
