Hezekiah's resume
Ahaz, Hezekiah's father, was a king who betrayed God. Therefore, at the beginning of Hezekiah's administration, Judah was extremely dark both politically and religiously. According to the Bible, because the northern country Israel was destroyed by Assyria, the Assyrian king could take advantage of the situation to attack Judah. Ahaz, the first king of Judah, blocked the road to the temple and led the whole country to worship idols, which greatly offended God. Without God's mercy, the kingdom of Judah survived temporarily in order to strengthen its promise to the family of David. Hezekiah became king at the age of twenty-five, and was in the critical autumn of the country. Because he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord God, he got God's mercy and successfully escaped the attack of Assyrian army and a fatal disease. His willingness to listen to the teachings of Isaiah, a contemporary prophet, made him passionate about God.

According to the Bible? According to the chronicle, Hezekiah was regarded as a good king by the Jews because he actively advocated the people to worship God again and obey God's orders. However, he also did a stupid thing, that is, he allowed the angel of the king of Babylon to visit his treasure house and armory. Later, God blamed them through the prophet Isaiah and predicted that Babylon would take them and all their property in the future. Hezekiah showed off his treasures, which became an important message for Babylon to attack the holy land.
