It is Buffon's great contribution to modern science to get rid of all kinds of religious superstitions and ignorant rumors and expel God from the universe. Buffon insisted on explaining the formation of the earth and the origin of human beings from the perspective of materialism, pointing out that the earth has many similarities with the sun, and the earth is a cool little sun. The evolution of matter on the earth produced plants and animals, and finally human beings.

Although Buffon used a hypothetical tone to cover up his theory of evolution with the creator and gods, he was besieged by the church. Under pressure, Buffon had to declare against his will that he had no intention to oppose the Bible, and gave up all the expressions about the formation of the earth in his works, and gave up the expressions that contradicted the story of Moses.
