Introduction to Baoshan City, Yunnan Province: Baoshan City, also known as Lancheng, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Province, located in the southwest of Yunnan Province.

It borders Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture and Lincang in the east, Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture in the north, Dehong Autonomous Prefecture in the west and Myanmar in the northwest and south. The boundary line is 170km long, with a total area of about19600km2, of which mountainous areas and semi-mountainous areas account for about 92%. As of 2022, Baoshan has three counties under its jurisdiction 1 district, and is in charge of 1 county-level cities.

In 2022, there were 13 ethnic minorities living in Baoshan. Baoshan has a large area of subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest, a large number of precious and rare biological species and a small number of ancient creatures of tropical origin. There are 5726 species and varieties of higher plants in Gaoligongshan Nature Reserve, including first-class protected plants such as Taxus chinensis, Davidia involucrata and Magnolia grandiflora, and second-class protected plants such as Alsophila spinulosa, Taiwania flousiana, Cinnamomum camphora and Toona sinensis. Wild species of rice, corn, sugar cane and tea tree have been found in many places.

There are more than 200 species of Ericaceae plants in the area. The burnt grassland at the source of Longjiang River on the west slope of Baoshan section of Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve in Yunnan Province has 1 plant, with a tree age of over 600 years, a height of 28 meters, a ground diameter of 3.07 meters and a crown of 62 square meters, and is praised by botanists as "the king of azaleas". This area is not only an important treasure house of China's animal and plant resources, but also one of the main origins of southern forest animals. There are more than 50 species of mammals (2 1 species of exotic animals under national first-class protection) and more than 250 species of birds.
