Its main responsibilities are to be responsible for the comprehensive supervision and management of the market, uniformly register market entities and establish information publicity and sharing mechanisms, organize the comprehensive enforcement of market supervision, undertake the unified enforcement of anti-monopoly, standardize and maintain the market order, organize the implementation of the strategy of strengthening the country by quality, be responsible for the quality and safety of industrial products, food safety and special equipment safety supervision, and uniformly manage measurement standards, inspection and testing, certification and accreditation.
Considering the particularity of drug supervision, the State Administration of Pharmaceutical Products was established separately and managed by the State Administration of Market Supervision. Market supervision implements hierarchical management, and drug regulatory agencies are only located at the provincial level. The supervision of drug sales and other behaviors shall be undertaken by the municipal and county market supervision departments.
