Then, the root of the main drain pipe in the bathroom leaks. Can you wipe it with cement mortar and then brush it for waterproofing?
The following rain brother will share with you the waterproof practice of the root of the main drain pipe.
Step one, seal!
If you build your own house, after all kinds of pipes are installed in the bathroom, there must be gaps in the part (root position) where the pipes pass through the floor. In this case, these gaps must be sealed first. Usually, many people directly use cement mortar to fill these gaps, so as to achieve the purpose of sealing.
But sometimes the reserved hole will leave a small gap after pipeline installation. Although the cement mortar plays a sealing role, it may shrink after solidification, or it may not be firmly bonded to the ground, resulting in tiny cracks and hidden dangers of leakage.
Therefore, if the root of the pipeline is directly sealed with cement mortar, the gap should be cut wider, so that more mortar can be poured and plastered higher (as shown below) to prevent water from flowing to the root.
The second step is strengthening.
After the root of the pipeline is sealed with cement mortar, the waterproof project should be brushed after it is completely cured and dried, and this part should be treated emphatically. The insurance method is to brush waterproof for the first time, then apply a layer of cement mortar for reinforcement and protection, and then brush waterproof for the second and third times.
In fact, the waterproof treatment of the root of sewage pipe is effective, but it is not necessarily foolproof. Raise the root position of the pipeline to prevent water from flowing to this position, and then drain the water through secondary drainage, which is indeed done in theory. However, I am afraid that the cement mortar will shrink and crack as mentioned at the beginning. If the waterproof material is insufficient, the possibility of water leakage will be much greater!
At present, in order to ensure better leakage prevention, cement mortar is not directly used to treat the roots of sewage main pipes, but waterproof materials with more waterproof functions, such as "plugging king".
Directly using this waterproof material instead of cement mortar to seal the root of the pipeline can not only play a better sealing role, but also prevent cracks from appearing for no reason, and you don't have to worry about shrinking and not sticking to the floor, which strengthens the leak-proof function!
It is no exaggeration to say that as long as the leakage problem at the root of the sewer pipe is solved, the possibility of leakage in the whole bathroom can be reduced by at least 50%, and choosing the right material is the key to deal with this problem!
Although cement mortar is directly used according to normal operation, it is understandable to brush the waterproof function several times to consolidate the waterproof function. However, if the root of the pipeline is completely built with plugging material directly, as shown in the above figure, it will be difficult to leak water at this position in the future!
