Longhua Mountain is lush, with chestnut trees, tea trees, bodhi trees and pine and cypress trees. Longhua Temple is in the steep jungle. Longhua Temple, formerly known as the Sleeping Buddha Temple, was built in 907-923 AD (that is, during the God Blessed Period and the Qianlong Period of the Later Tang Dynasty). According to the Inscription on Rebuilding the Living Buddhist Temple in Longhua Mountain written by Cai Longsong in Guangshan County, Henan Province, "One night, because a monk from God came here to worship Buddha, he left in the middle of the night. Therefore, the monks in Dali knew that Cong was here, so they settled down in the temple and diligently practiced the precepts. "
/kloc-in the third century, Mongolian soldiers destroyed Dali, and Prime Minister Gao Taixiang was martyred. Daughter Bodhi was devastated and her brother was separated. She became a monk in the reclining Buddha temple. She planted bodhi tree seeds given by Indian monks when she was born behind the temple, and the Ibrahimovic brothers shared life and death. Nine seeds are growing well, and the nine brothers are finally reunited. Brother Gao Shou was appointed as the general manager of the general administration of military and civilian affairs of Yao 'an Road, rebuilt the Reclining Buddha Temple, renamed the Living Buddha Temple, and made a bodhi statue.
In the early Ming Dynasty, an elegant monk opened a Buddhist temple here to read Buddha, and more than 700 famous monks from all over the world gathered here, including Panlong, Gu Ting, Zongfeng and Xu Zhen. Later, with wisdom, Longhua Temple became one of the Buddhist holy places in western Yunnan. At the end of the Ming Dynasty, a lonely monk came to Yao 'an from Sichuan to give lectures and specialize in precepts. Monks from various temples helped each other, giving land rent, gold and silver, and expanding the temple.
1638, traveler Xu Xiake once traveled here and briefly described the local geographical environment and scenery. Kong Ji, the abbot of Longhua Temple at that time, invited him to lunch and let him rest in the back porch.
Longhua Temple was destroyed by a fire in the fifty-seventh year of Kangxi (17 17), and was rebuilt by Gao Yinghou, the toast, and Kong Ji, the abbot. In the 20th year of Guangxu (1894), it was destroyed again, and the Yi people and abbot Jue 'an rebuilt it. The base address has not moved during reconstruction and will be repaired as it is. However, the two fires did not involve the Great Hall of Compassion (Tongyuanlou) and the back porch, so Tongyuanlou and the back porch were still buildings of the Ming Dynasty.
