Son: Xu Xiaoyan, with the rank of Lieutenant General, graduated from the Computer Department of Tsinghua University and Nova Scotia University of Technology. In July 2005, he served as the director of the communications department of the PLA General Staff and the deputy commander of the Nanjing Military Region. From June 5438 to June 2006, he served as the deputy director of the Science and Technology Committee of the PLA General Armament Department.

Eldest daughter: Xu Songzhi (also known as Xu Zhiming), a former doctor in a hospital of the People's Liberation Army, has now retired.

Second daughter: Xu Luxi, a computer expert, went to the Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences for postgraduate study after the founding of the People's Republic of China. She used to be the director of the National Information Center, and later founded Beijing Jiaweiyi Information System Co., Ltd. as the chairman.

Daughter: Xu Xiaotao, graduated from Beijing Medical College, and worked as a pediatrician and laboratory doctor in 304 Hospital of PLA. 1993 went to America with her husband to work as an accountant. [ 16]
