Wa people belong to Myanmar. Wa State consists of North Wa State and South Wa State, with an area of10.7 million square kilometers in North Wa State and10.3 million square kilometers in South Wa State, with a total area of 30,000 square kilometers. The Wa nationality has a total population of about 600,000, with the Wa nationality as the main ethnic group. Wa nationality is the main Chinese community in northern Myanmar. Wa State is under the jurisdiction of Shan State and belongs to local government at the provincial level. Wa is called the second special zone, which is lower than the provincial level.

Historically, Wa belonged to China, Nanzhao in Tang Dynasty and Dali in Song Dynasty. The official languages of Wa are Wa and Chinese, and the official language is Chinese.

The Wa State borders Yunnan Province in China to the north and Thailand to the south, with Bangkang as its capital. The Wa State governs Mengmao County, Mengneng County, Meng Bo County, Bangkang Special Zone, Deng Nan Special Zone and southern Wa region.

Most of the northern tile areas belong to alpine mountains, and most of the areas under its jurisdiction are alpine canyons, of which about 95% are mountainous areas, less than 5% are pingba areas, while most of the southern tile areas are wet and muddy tropical rain forest areas.
