Xiangtan Iron and Steel Plant was established in 1958, and Xianggang Children's Middle School was formally established in 1960 to meet the educational needs of employees' children. The school site is temporarily located in Hong Kong Children's Third School.

1976 10. At the end of the Cultural Revolution, No.1 Middle School of Xianggang began a new journey of striding forward. For the convenience of management, the junior high school branch was renamed as Hong Kong No.2 Middle School, and Hong Kong Children's Middle School was renamed as Hong Kong No.1 Middle School. In the same year, the national college entrance examination resumed, and Li Kunming and Miao Qitian were admitted to Tsinghua University at the same time.

1979, because the institute of iron and steel is far away from the living quarters of employees, Xianggang decided to move No.1 Middle School of Xianggang to Quanxintang, and officially moved to its current campus in 198 1 year. At this point, the former site of Sanyi School.

1988, wuyue was admitted to Tsinghua University Grade 96.

1994, Shi Guanghua was admitted to Tsinghua University, and in the same year, Qinglan Literature Society was established.

1995, Xianggang decided to merge No.2 Middle School with No.1 Middle School. (200 1- to date)

From 1999 to the end of 2000, the school started seven major projects, such as expanding the experimental building, building a new library, storm track, 400-meter track and field, rebuilding the school gate, upgrading the campus network and decorating the teaching building. The hardware facilities of the school basically meet the requirements of provincial key middle schools, and passed the evaluation of provincial key middle schools in June165438+1October of the same year.

On June 8th, 20001year, it was officially listed as "Key Middle School in Hunan Province".

In 2004, the plaque of provincial key middle schools was changed to "provincial model ordinary high schools", and in September of the same year, the first "Hongzhi class" of high schools started.

2005 is the 45th anniversary of the establishment of No.1 Middle School in Xianggang, and a grand celebration meeting was held on1October 26th.

On August 2 1 day, 2006, Xianggang No.1 Middle School was handed over to the local government again after negotiation between Xianggang Group and Xiangtan Municipal Government.

In June 2006, Liu Xiaodong and Zhu Yingming, senior three students, both won the first prize in Hunan Division of the National Senior High School Mathematics League, accounting for 50% of the winners in the city.

In 2007, a new round of school construction began, with new student apartments, student canteens and senior three comprehensive buildings. Zheng Da, the principal, won unanimous praise from the organization, and was successively rated as "Advanced Worker in National Education System", "Top Ten Principals in Xiangtan City" and "Special Teacher in Hunan Province". In the same year, the college entrance examination made a historic breakthrough. Hu Xinxin and zay won the first and third place in liberal arts in the city, and both of them were admitted to Peking University. All the first Hongzhi classes reached the undergraduate level.

On September 30th, 2008, president and Mr. Zhu died in a car accident on their way home from a business trip. The bad news made the school very sad, and the school leaders suffered heavy losses. On June 2nd, 65438 10, a grand public sacrifice of nearly ten thousand people was held in the school gymnasium.

In 2009, the college entrance examination was a great success again. Li Wenzhu and Zong Sijia won the top prize in arts and sciences in the city, and were admitted to Peking University and Tsinghua University respectively. In September of the same year, the municipal party committee appointed Wang Min as the principal and Tang Xinjian as the secretary.

20 10 is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of No.1 Middle School in Xianggang. 10 held a grand celebration meeting on October 20th. In the same year, the results of college entrance examination reached a new level, with 696 undergraduates, including one 38 1 and two 33, ranking first in the urban area.

20 1 1 year, the college entrance examination in No.1 Middle School of Xiangtan Iron and Steel Company achieved remarkable results, with 469 students in No.1 and No.2 Middle Schools (144, 325 students in No.2 Middle School), and 47 students in both schools lived in urban areas, with scores above 1600. All the students in the fifth Hongzhi class have reached the admission line. In the senior high school entrance examination, Xiang Shilin and Li Tian were ranked first and second in the city with excellent scores of 934 and 928. There were 49 students with scores above 900 in the urban area and 24 students in the school.
