It is clear that Haikou will focus on planning and constructing 4 national wetland parks, 2 provincial wetland parks and 1 wetland nature reserve from 20 17. By 2020, the wetland area in Haikou will be no less than 430,000 mu, and the wetland protection rate will increase to over 50%. It is planned to start to create a world wetland city in 20 19.

In particular, environmental protection departments should strengthen law enforcement and supervision, and strictly control and impose heavy penalties on sewage discharge along rivers and lakes; Combine wetland protection with urban functional layout, water treatment, industrial development and global tourism. Enhance the regional ecological value and overall characteristics, so that Haikou can still "see the mountains, see the water and remember to live in homesickness" in accelerating economic and social development.
