1999 won the Australian Food and Packaging Achievement Award, the Australian CRC Technology Transfer Award in 2002 and the Silver Award in the Australian Packaging Expo in 2003. In 2002, he was elected as a member of the Royal Australian Chemical Society. He is also a senior consultant at the Polymer Research Center of the Royal Australian Institute of Technology.

Social part-time 1982 to 1988 worked in Henan Institute of Chemistry as an assistant researcher.

After 1993, he worked in the development department of Australia's Thermolite Packaging Company and the Australian Polymer Cooperative Research Center.

1996 worked in the institute of manufacturing (institute of raw materials) of the Australian academy of sciences as the project leader, and began to work as a senior researcher in 2000.

In 2002, he was introduced to China and worked in the School of Food and Bioengineering of South China University of Technology as a professor and doctoral supervisor.
