What is Shu Wei?
Shu Wei, a total of 124 volumes, including biography 12 volumes, 92 biographies and 20 recorded volumes. Because some biographies and chronicles are too long, they are divided into upper, lower or upper, middle and lower volumes, totaling 130 volumes. By Wei Shou of the Northern Qi Dynasty.

As early as Tuoba GUI established the Northern Wei regime, Deng Yuan wrote more than ten volumes. Later, others continued to write "History of Wei", all of which adopted the chronological style. In the 11th year of Taihe (AD 487), Li Biao participated in the revision of history and changed his biography, which was probably written during the reign of TaBaHong. Later Xing Luan, Cui Hong, etc. He has compiled the notes of Gaozu (Justin), Sejong (Yuan Ke) and Su Zong (Xu Yuan). The original chronicles of the Northern Wei Dynasty, such as Deng Yuan's Dai Ji, Cui Hao's Credentials and biographical history books revised by Li Biao and Cui Guang, were all acquired by Wei Shou, but they are all lost today. Wei Shou should also read the works of the Southern Dynasties, such as Shen Yue's The Book of Songs. The History of Wei was written in the second year of Tianbao (55 1) and completed in the fifth year (554). Although Gao Longzhi was appointed as the director, Fang Yanyou and other six people assisted in the deliberation, mainly written by Wei Shou.

Wei Shou and his contemporaries wrote the History of Wei before, and others wrote several other Wei books during the Sui and Tang Dynasties, but none of them have been handed down. Li yanshou's History of the North in the Tang Dynasty, in which the northern Wei part was basically extracted from Shu Wei. Therefore, Shu Wei is the most original and complete information about the history of the Northern Wei Dynasty.
