What did Gan Long do in his life?
Gan Long (171~1799), Aisingiorro Hongli, the fourth son of yongzheng emperor, succeeded to the throne after the death of Yongzheng for 60 years. During the Qianlong period, he was pragmatic, reduced taxes and attached importance to agriculture and mulberry, which made the social production develop continuously, and the "prosperous time of Kanggan" reached its peak during his reign. At the same time, he continued to implement the domestic and foreign policies since Kangxi and Yongzheng, put down the Junggar rebellion at home, wiped out the peace forces on Tianshan South Road, and severely rejected the aggression demands put forward by British special envoy Ma Jiani abroad. These measures have made important contributions to the multi-ethnic coexistence and territorial integrity of China. However, he appointed Xiao Shenyang, the biggest corrupt official in China's history, for 20 years, which led to political corruption, boiling public grievances, frequent peasant uprisings and the decline of the powerful Qing Dynasty. 1795, Qianlong abdicated to the Crown Prince, died four years later, and was buried in Yuling, Hebei Province (now northwest of Zunhua, Hebei Province). The temple was named Emperor Gao Zongchun.
