1934 to 1940 studied in Tsinghua University, Chinese Department and History Department of National Southwest Associated University, and obtained a bachelor's degree; 1940 to 1943 studied in the history department of Peking University College of Literature. 1943 to 1945 as a teaching assistant in the history department of The National SouthWest Associated University; 1945 to 1946 as research assistant of Peking University College of Literature; 1946 to 1952, lecturer of Tsinghua University history department; From 1952 to 1955, executive vice president of Ren Qinghua Workers and Peasants Middle School; 1955 to 1958 as editor of People's Education Publishing House; 1958 to 1978 taught in Shanxi Institute of Education and participated in the collation of Twenty-four History by Zhonghua Book Company. Professor Wang Yongxing upholds the spirit of patriotism, progress, democracy and science all his life, whether in action or in research. While studying in Tsinghua University, he took an active part in the "December 9th" patriotic and democratic movement. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), Professor Wang Yongxing was one of the earliest scholars who studied Dunhuang studies in China, and his research motivation was to catch up with the international level. Professor Wang Yongxing once said bitterly: "I love the excellent traditional academic culture of the Chinese nation for thousands of years, and now I feel ashamed of the backwardness of Dunhuang literature research. I am a student from China. How to be a man without shame and self-improvement? " Based on this belief, after he was busy editing middle school history textbooks, he studied hard and wrote the article Dunhuang Tang Dynasty Textbooks. As soon as this article was published in the fourth issue of Historical Research (1957), it was highly praised by international academic circles. It not only won the honor for China, but also became a must-read for Dunhuang studies in the following decades, which influenced several generations of scholars and promoted the study of Chinese economic history. After ten years of catastrophe, under the harsh conditions of narrow escape, Professor Wang Yongxing still overcame all kinds of unimaginable difficulties with tenacious perseverance and persevered in his study. His article "An Introduction to Dunhuang Literature: A Thirteen-year Account of the Western Wei Dynasty" is such a post-disaster manuscript. Even in more than 20 years of adversity and persecution, Professor Wang Yongxing's patriotism has never changed.

Professor Wang Yongxing is loyal to the Party's educational cause, persistent, diligent in academic research, and carefully cultivates talents. After returning to teaching and research posts, Professor Wang Yongxing devoted himself to teaching with full enthusiasm. For more than ten years, he insisted on teaching two courses every academic year. First, Tang Shi, including economic history, political history, institutional history and special books on Tang Shi in Tang Dynasty; The first is the study of Dunhuang and Turpan documents. Professor Wang Yongxing carefully prepared each course and gave detailed and profound lectures. In addition, outside the classroom, every student who takes part in the course will get individual counseling, and he will take pains to teach others. Through this strict training, Mr. Wang has trained a large number of high-level research talents, most of whom have become the backbone of universities and scientific research institutions, and their salaries are all over the world.

Professor Wang Yongxing has foresight, perseverance and is willing to be a ladder. He is persistent and diligent in academic research, carefully cultivating talents, and also cares about the discipline construction of history department. 198 1 made outstanding contributions to the establishment of the research center for medieval history in China, Peking University (later renamed as the research center for ancient history in China, Peking University). Today, Peking University China Ancient History Research Center has become a well-known historical research institution at home and abroad, and has been rated as the first batch of key scientific research bases for humanities and social sciences by the Ministry of Education, which has trained a number of outstanding talents for the history circle in China.

Professor Wang Yongxing studied under a great master, Mr. Chen Yinque, and served as Mr. Chen Yinque's assistant for many years. He always takes Mr. Chen Yinque as an example, studies meticulously; Respect for teachers and morality, respect for teachers and morality, life remains the same. He followed Mr. Chen Yinque's method of "long editing and textual research on differences", studied hard and worked tirelessly. In my later years, when my eyes were weak, my hands trembled and writing was inconvenient, I still studied hard on the computer, and my writing was not polished, and my achievements were remarkable. He has published many monographs, such as Collation of Economic Historical Materials in Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties (Part I), Research on Procurator System in Tang Dynasty, Selected Papers of Chen Menxue, Military Research in Northwest China in Early Tang Dynasty, An Introduction to Dunhuang Economic Literature, A Brief Comment on Military History in Early Tang Dynasty and a Brief Comment on Military History in Late Tang Dynasty, all of which are "replies", pioneering and innovative. He took it as his duty to promote the study of Yi Ning, diligently sorted out Mr. Chen's reading notes, edited the Academic Collection in Commemoration of Mr. Chen's Centennial Birthday, deeply studied Mr. Chen's academic methods, and wrote A Brief Draft of Mr. Chen's History, which made the emperor sad and touched people's hearts. He also edited five volumes of Dunhuang and Turpan Philology, which became a milestone in the study of Dunhuang studies in China.

Professor Wang Yongxing's life is open-minded, clear about love and hate, honest, kind and pure. He is strong-willed, indomitable, supportive and persuasive. The sudden death of Professor Wang Yongxing caused us to lose a respected teacher, which caused great losses to historians in China and made us feel extremely sorry and sad.

Although Professor Wang Yongxing has left us, his persistent spirit of historical research and education, and his concern and expectation for his relatives, friends, colleagues and students will always inspire future generations to move forward on the road of life and academics.
