In order to pay the rent, Xiang Shouzhi's mother had to bite the bullet and promised to lend him 30 silver dollars at a high interest rate of 50%. As a result, on New Year's Eve, the landlord sent a group of thugs to ask for money, and said fiercely, "You can borrow 30 yuan from our boss, which is profitable. 300 yuan has both principal and interest. They also took a liter of rice from the bag under the kitchen woodpile.

As a result, on the first day of the Lunar New Year, Xiang Shouzhi and his mother, who had worked hard for a year, had no food and had to starve.

1933 during the lunar new year, Xu, commander-in-chief of the fourth army, led a delegation to Sichuan to establish the Sichuan-Shaanxi revolutionary base. In February, the Xuanhan County Committee of the Communist Party of China was established, and then party organizations were established in various towns and villages.
