During their stay in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, there were such a group of orphans who bravely took up guns against the Japanese invaders for the sake of national survival. After two years, they killed more than 200 Japanese and puppet troops, but they all died in the end.

They are volunteers for orphans in Jinling.

At the end of Qing Dynasty, there was a small red hill outside Nanjing. In this place not far from Nanjing, there is a century-old temple called Jiashan Temple. However, due to the shaky rule of the Qing Dynasty at that time and the remote geographical location of Jiashan Temple, few people came here to burn incense and worship Buddha. At this time, the temple has been destroyed by wind and rain.

Later, three people came to Jiashan Temple. An old nun took two young nuns and three people lived in the dilapidated Zen room of the temple. The old nun is very kind. She took in many orphans, and finally she reached more than 60. The orphan treats the old nun as a grandmother and calls her a teacher, while the two little nuns call her a grandmother.

By 1927, a man named Tao Xingzhi knew that there were many orphans in the temple, and he often brought some food to the children from Nanjing. Because Tao Xingzhi is the founder of a school, he sends orphans to school. Orphans learn knowledge and culture in school, and more importantly, understand the national spirit.

Time is up 1937. The Japanese invaders are becoming more and more arrogant, occupying our territory and slaughtering our compatriots. China's demand for anti-Japanese is getting louder and louder. At this time, orphans who are studying at school have taken to the streets to join the anti-Japanese propaganda.

In August this year, orphans spontaneously organized an organization called' Jinling Orphan Volunteers', which was initiated by the monitor Zhong Hua. They hope that the volunteer organization they set up can bravely fight against the Japanese invaders like the Northeast Anti-Japanese Volunteers, even at the cost of their lives.

The news of the Battle of Shanghai and Shanghai came. Among these orphans, three female orphans went to Shanghai to fight with the local army. The Battle of Songhu lasted for several months, and Shanghai finally fell. The three female orphans followed the team to participate in the Nanjing Defence War. Finally, all three female orphans died in the battle of Purple Mountain.

Among these orphans, there are three people named Qu Ge, Shi Qing and Zheng Xing. They took part in the battle of Guanghuamen in the defending battle of Nanjing. Fortunately, all three of them evacuated their positions safely. Also in this same battle, the five female orphans in charge of battlefield rescue were not so lucky. All of them were killed by the Japanese army in the position of Beigushan, and even their names were not left.

Zhong Hua, the squad leader who initiated the volunteer initiative at that time, and an orphan named Lei Yue were captured during the retreat. The devil wanted to slaughter the prisoners, and the injured Lei Yue threw the monitor Zhong Hua under him. Zhong Hua survived, climbed out of the slaughtered body in the middle of the night and fled to his home mountain temple.

It was the spring of 1938, and the Japanese army was building a large military warehouse at this time. Zhong Hua sneaked into the Japanese warehouse with several orphans and volunteers and stole weapons such as rifles, grenades and explosives from here.

Armed with these stolen weapons, the orphans, led by Zhong Hua, began to ambush the Japanese invaders everywhere, and sometimes even attacked the puppet troops in their strongholds. The shadowy sabotage activities of the orphan volunteers made the Japanese feel a headache, and they began a comprehensive sweep. In the process of sweeping, many orphans were indeed caught, but none of these brave and tenacious orphans let the cat out of the bag, even though the Japanese army tortured their young bodies.

The Japanese army had no choice but to think of another plan. They want to plant spies in the orphan volunteers. Because the orphan volunteers led by Zhong Hua are known to the local people, many people will come to participate, and Zhong Hua also hopes to strengthen his anti-Japanese forces. The spies sent by the Japanese did not see through their hidden identity and entered the orphan volunteers. Since then, the plans and traces of the orphan volunteers have always been known in advance by the Japanese army.

1939, the Japanese army assembled a joint team of more than 500 Japanese troops and puppet troops to encircle the orphan volunteers. Zhong Hua led the orphan volunteers to fight to the death and never broke through. Although the Japanese attack was repelled many times, because they were outnumbered, they were finally forced to choose to transfer to their own caves where ammunition was stored. The orphan volunteers represented by Zhong Hua don't want to be caught by the Japanese army. When the Japanese army rushed into the cave, they lit all the explosives in the cave. In the loud explosion, all the orphan volunteers and the Japanese army rushed into the cave and died together.

In the two years and three months after its establishment, this "small organization" of Jinling Orphan Volunteers killed more than 200 Japanese puppet troops and burned and destroyed enemy warehouses and vehicles. The average age of the little soldiers of the Orphan Volunteers at the time of sacrifice was only 16 years old, including 20 girls, and the average age at the time of sacrifice was only 15 years old.

It's dangerous to forget the war! Remember the motherland that once shed blood and sacrificed, remember these "little predecessors" who sacrificed for us, and pay tribute!
