Zhou Liping was born in Shushan, Yixing.

Zhou Liping, a famous purple sand ceramist and arts and crafts artist in China, began to set foot in purple sand art in 1983. He studied ceramic art hard for more than 20 years and learned from others. His works are concise, elegant and full of charm. His works include Guifei, Pisces and Ruixiang Tiancheng, which are well received by Wu and many collectors. Ruixiang Tiancheng won the Gold Award for Innovative Arts in the 6th China (National) Arts and Crafts Fair. The newly created Eight Wind Pots were permanently collected by ceramics museum in Yixing, China.
