He is one of the main founders and inventors of international oral gene therapy.
In 2005, he voluntarily gave up the excellent working environment and generous treatment of Hong Kong University, returned to his hometown, and was employed by Huaqiao University. He was responsible for the establishment of the Institute of Molecular Medicine and the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Molecular Medicine Education, and served as the director and director. His outstanding contribution in the field of molecular medicine has established his academic leadership position in related fields at home and abroad. He used to be the leader and chief scientist of the National 863 Tenth Five-Year Plan lung cancer gene therapy research group, an expert on science and technology strategy development of the Ministry of Science and Technology, a member of the National Natural Science Foundation, and an expert on international science and technology cooperation management of the Ministry of Science and Technology. At the same time, he also served as honorary professor and consultant of more than 20 famous universities in China, such as Peking Union Medical College and Taipei Veterans General Hospital of the Executive Yuan. Internationally, he is the executive director of the International Society for Cancer Cell and Gene Therapy, the editor/reviewer of more than 20 international SCI academic journals in the United States, Britain, Germany, Sweden, etc., an expert in the evaluation of the National Natural Fund of Ireland, and a professional member of the New Zealand Institute of Food Science and Technology.
