Li Yuanba, the first general of Li Yuanba in Sui and Tang Dynasties, is a character in the novel The Legend of Tang Dynasty and many ballads. His historical prototype is Li Xuanba (599 -6 14), the third son of Tang Gaozu Li Yuan (note: The Legend of the Tang Dynasty and other novels call him the fourth son of Li Yuan, which is inconsistent with historical facts), Dou Taihou.
