Li Yuanba, the first general of Li Yuanba in Sui and Tang Dynasties, is a character in the novel The Legend of Tang Dynasty and many ballads. His historical prototype is Li Xuanba (599 -6 14), the third son of Tang Gaozu Li Yuan (note: The Legend of the Tang Dynasty and other novels call him the fourth son of Li Yuan, which is inconsistent with historical facts), Dou Taihou. In the tenth year of the Great Cause of Sui Dynasty (6 14), he died young at the age of 16, and was named Wang Wei by Tang Gaozu Li Yuan. Later generations changed his name to Li Yuanba because he avoided the name of Emperor Kangxi Michelle Ye.

Li Xuanba (599 -6 14), whose name is Dade, was the younger brother of Tang Taizong, the second son of Li Yuan, and was named Huai Wang. Sui Daye died in the tenth year (6 14), aged 16 and childless. Later, Lee Tae, the fourth son of Emperor Taizong (then the king of Qin), was the King of Yue, and Li Baoding, the son of Li Qiong, the king of Xiping, was the heir of Li Xuanba (Lee Tae returned to his ancestral home). Li Baoding died childless, and the seal of Xuanba was officially cut off.

In The Legend of the Tang Dynasty, Li Yuanba is Li Xuanba to avoid the name of Kangxi (Michelle Ye). In the novel, it was renamed Yuan, and the upper Dapeng Golden Winged Bird was invincible. After killing Yuwen Chengdou, Yuwen Chengdou returned to his place for nine days, and died of God's vengeance. See chapter 42 of The Legend of the Tang Dynasty?
