Introduction of characters in Tan Sitong Memorial Hall
Tan Sitong (1865- 1898) was born in Liuyang. Good Ren Xia, likes fencing. I studied under Ouyang Zhonggu, reading extensively, studying classics and studying western natural and social science works. I admire Wei Yuan and Gong Zizhen very much. Travel to Zhili, Shaanxi, Gansu, Shanxi, Shandong, Henan and other provinces, observe local conditions and customs, and make friends with celebrities. Give full play to Wang Fuzhi's theory of "Tao does not leave the device" and put forward that "the device has changed and the Tao remains unchanged", which provides a theoretical basis for reform.

Tan Sitong's tomb is located at the foot of Stone Mountain in Xiaoshui Village, Lotus Sub-district Office, Liuyang City. The tomb is semi-circular, covered with small round flat pebbles, with stone pillars on three sides and green slates all around. There is an altar in front, with two sides spread out in a figure of eight. After the tombstone tee, there are stone horses, one Shi Hu and a pair of China watches in front of the cemetery. The inscription says: "Never grind, the stone stands in the sky and the earth, the mountains are beautiful, and the mountains are rushing to the waves."
