From 65438 to 0999-2004, he received his doctorate from the Department of Geology and Geophysics of the University of Minnesota.
From 2004 to 2005, he did postdoctoral research in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

In 2007, he was selected into the Hundred Talents Program of China Academy of Sciences, and was employed as a researcher and doctoral supervisor of Institute of Geology and Geophysics of China Academy of Sciences.
He has been engaged in comprehensive research in the fields of paleomagnetism, rock magnetism and environmental magnetism for a long time. More than 70 SCI papers have been published so far.
