Guo Xiaonan, director of Shanghai Theatre Arts Center. Graduated from the director department of Shanghai Theatre Academy and lived in Kobe, Japan in the early 1990s. Now he is working in Shanghai Theatre Arts Center, a national first-class director, and his works have won many national awards.

Since the late 1980s, he has directed more than 30 stage plays, involving plays, operas, musicals and so on. The selected plays are full of profound humanistic significance and innovative spirit. The director's style is dignified and refined, and the stage means are varied. He paid attention to the unity of China's traditional art and modern aesthetics, and formed a brand-new pattern, which had a wide and far-reaching influence on the contemporary drama circle. He is one of the famous contemporary directors and artists in China with a distinctive personality.

In the 1990s, he wrote and directed the dramas Blood White, Where is the Soul and Rhapsody on the Journey to the West in Kobe and Osaka, Japan, and directed the Kunqu Opera Night Crane in cooperation with Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe and Tokyo Theater. 1997 directed the Yue Opera "Cold Love-The Secret History of Qin Shihuang" and was invited to participate in the Tokyo International Stage Art Festival, and made a commercial tour in several cities in Japan.
