Where are Sichuan and Chongqing?
Sichuan and Chongqing refer to Sichuan Province and Chongqing City. It was called "Bashu" in ancient times. "Sichuan" is the abbreviation of Sichuan Province and "Chongqing" is the abbreviation of Chongqing. Located in the Sichuan Basin and the east of Wushan, Sichuan and Chongqing are a geographical concept because of their similar geographical location and cultural customs, so the two places are often collectively referred to as Sichuan and Chongqing.

Sichuan-Chongqing region is located in the southwest of China, which is a part of the Han Dynasty. Because of the relatively closed natural conditions, hills and basins are self-contained in language, diet, customs and art, but they are not the same.

The names Sichuan and Chongqing both began to appear in the Song Dynasty. In the fourth year of Song Zhenzong Xianping (A.D. 100 1), the Northern Song Dynasty made a new adjustment to the local administrative divisions, and divided the land of Bashu into Yizhou Road, Zizhou Road, Lizhou Road and Kuizhou Road, which were under the jurisdiction of Chengdu, Santai, Hanzhong and Fengjie respectively, and were collectively called Sichuan Road, which was the beginning of the name of Sichuan.

In the third year of Song Huizong Daguan (A.D. 1 109), the word Sichuan was officially used in imperial edicts, which was the beginning of Sichuan as the abbreviation of administrative divisions. Later, in the Song Dynasty, there were officials such as Sichuan Fu Xuan and Sichuan Zhi Zhi, who were officials of the Central Committee stationed in Sichuan Sixia Road, all of which were referred to as Sichuan Si Xia Road for short.

The city name of Chongqing was named after the Southern Song Dynasty. In the 16th year of Xichun (A.D. 1 189), Song Guangzong renamed his potential vassal, Duke Fu Sheng, as Chongqing.
