There are three novels. The first "Taoist girl" was written in 1900 to 1909. The wind of Eight-Nation Alliance's invasion is getting tighter and tighter. When Yao Si 'an, a wealthy businessman and Taoist believer with millions of assets in Beijing, left Beijing for the south, Yao Mulan, a 10-year-old girl of the Yao family, was separated from her family during the war and was later taken in by Zeng Wenpu, a Beijing official. Mulan and the third son of the Zeng family, Xinya, were regarded as a godsend.
A few years later, Yao Mulan grew into a beautiful and intelligent girl. At this time, successive human waves broke the quiet life of these two families. Kong Lifu, an energetic young man, entered the Yao family's life circle and heart. Mulan married Xinya, making the Taoist daughter a daughter-in-law of Confucianism, and Mulan loved Kong Lifu in her heart.
The second part, "Courtyard Tragedy", tells the story of the bullying, decline and collapse of the evil forces in the Niu family. Later, the brush strokes returned to Yao's compound, showing scenes of tragedy: Di Renjie, the son of Yao's parents, died, Di Renjie's mother suffered from a strange disease for a long time, and Feng Hongyu, the daughter of his uncle Feng Zean, threw herself into the lake. Yao Sian thought that he had done his duty to his family, cut his hair and decorated it, and went out to travel. It was announced that he would come back in ten years.
The third "Qiu Ge" describes the life of Yao Zeng and his family during the twenty years from the eve of the May 4th Movement to the occupation of Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou by Japanese invaders. With the passage of time, the third generation Zeng and Yao gradually grew up. The Japanese imperialist aggression has brought profound disasters to the people of China. Mulan's home is far from Hangzhou westbound.
There are refugees all the way. Mulan took in three orphans and a newborn baby during her westward journey. She feels that although she is in the autumn of her life, the next generation is in spring. "The songs of fallen leaves in late autumn contain lullabies of youth." The novel ends with "Qiu Ge".

character introduction
Yao Mulan
Yao Mulan was born in a wealthy family, influenced by Taoist father Yao Sian, and he was tolerant, kind and unknown. She admired Laozi and Zhuangzi, eulogized and laughed at nature, and expressed her affection for mountains and rivers. In Mr. Lin's pen, a "typical woman" worthy of praise from the sages of Laozi and Zhuangzi is lifelike. Taoism, which originated in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, changed greatly in the 1930s.
Yao Mulan was influenced by Taoism, but the times left a new mark on her, which made her go to the society and enter the anti-Japanese flood composed of thousands of people in Qian Qian. This is the moral of the image of Yao Mulan in the novel. ?
Sun manni
Sun Manni, the daughter-in-law of loyalty and filial piety, rarely uses psychological and verbal processes to show passivity and obedience. Moreover, she tends to use declarative sentences and median modal verbs, which shows that she is conservative and obedient and has no ideas of her own.
Niu suyun
For Niu Suyun, an unconventional daughter-in-law, she mainly uses material processes to express her behavior habits, and rarely uses modal verbs in her discourse, which shows that she is very arrogant.
Yao Sian
Yao Sian's father was a wealthy businessman when he was alive. Later, his son Yao Sian inherited these countless possessions, including many pharmacies, some pawn shops and other tea shops. Maybe it's because Yao Sian's money will never be used up. When I was in my prime, I went to restaurants to spend money with other rich second generation, and went to fireworks Liuxiang to have fun. His behavior is extremely dissolute, just like a hooligan.
It also destroyed the family style. However, when he had a wife and children in his thirties, it was unbelievable that he was no longer the original bohemian man. He began to realize more and more that after experiencing ups and downs, he should be calm, stable and detached from secular life.
