Classification of masonry
Stone masonry is generally divided into stone masonry (Figure A), rubble masonry (Figure B) and rubble concrete masonry (Figure C). Stone masonry and rubble masonry are built with mortar. Rubble concrete masonry is formed by pouring a layer of concrete in the transverse plate first, then laying a layer of rubble, and pouring and masonry alternately. Stone masonry can also be used to build some structures, such as stone arch bridges, stone dams and stone culverts. Fine-processed heavy rocks, such as granite and marble, are of good quality and beautiful masonry, and are often used to build memorial buildings. The masonry method of rubble concrete masonry is relatively simple, which is widely used in the foundation engineering of general houses and structures, and is also often used to build retaining walls and other structures.
