Introduction:
Labuleng Temple, located in Xiahexia, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is one of the six major monasteries of Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. At present, the owner of the temple is jamyang Hutuktu VI, and there are eight Kambu and four Saichi.
In history, Labrang Temple is known as 108 temples (actually much larger than this number), which is the political education center in Gannan area. At present, Labrang Temple has retained the best teaching system of Tibetan Buddhism in China. 1982 was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
In the 13th year of Tibetan calendar, that is, in the 48th year of Kangxi (1709), the first Jiamuyang returned to his hometown to build Labuleng Temple at the invitation of Tenzin, a banner in Hoxud, Qinghai, with a history of 280 years. The College of Liberal Arts and the College of Continuing Education were founded in the first century. By the second Jiayang, the Shilun College was established, and Labrang's influence was increasing day by day. The number of monasteries and tribes increased sharply, and the system of integrating politics and religion was further strengthened. The scale of Labrang Temple has been expanding, and the Confucian classics system has been improving day by day. A learning system is established, which focuses on revealing two cases by professors, supplemented by medicine, calendar, words, sounds, book sentences, engraving, printing, painting, singing and dancing. Jamyan III established the Medical College. Jamyang V built hevajra College, continued the upper house and expanded various Buddhist temples. After more than 200 years of construction and development, Labrang Temple has become a huge building group with 6 academies, 48 Buddhist temples, Angqian (the residence of living buddhas) and more than 500 temples, ranking first among the six Gelugpa temples and enjoying the reputation of "the second place to keep Tibet" in Amdo area. At the beginning of liberation, there were 3,424 monks in Labrang Temple, including 68 living buddhas and 564 monks and nuns. After 1958, there were only 7 living buddhas, 32 monks and 166 monks in Labrang Temple, a total of 205 people. 196 1 year, labrang temple was listed as a provincial cultural relics protection unit in Gansu province, and 1962 had 1200 monks.
