The Historical Evolution of Chenjia Town
In March, 1987, the club was withdrawn and the brigade was merged, and the township was merged into the village. Marco Township in the south governs 20 villages, and Yu 'an Township in the north governs 18 villages.

1March 1994, Yu' an Township was renamed Yu' an Town; 1February 1995, Marco Township was renamed as Chenjia Town. Until the end of 2000, the villages under the jurisdiction of the two towns remained unchanged.

From June 5438 to February 2000, the former Chenjia Town and the former Yu 'an Town merged into Chenjia Town, which governed 38 administrative villages in the former two towns.

In 2002, according to the general requirements of the division adjustment of Chongming County, the 38 administrative villages under Chenjia Town were adjusted to 2 1 administrative village.

There are also three residents' committees in Chenjia Town. Yuhong Neighborhood Committee was established in 1997, Chen Ying Neighborhood Committee was established in 2002 and Yuhong Jiayuan Neighborhood Committee was established in 2008. Marco Commune was founded on 1958, renamed as Chenjiazhen Commune on 1980, 1984 and 1995. 1997, with an area of 33 square kilometers and a population of 30,000, governs Lixin, Seed Farm, Donghai, Xinqiao, Xinbei, Maojiaqiao, Yingdong, Chaoyang, Quan Min, Ding Qiao, Iron Tower, Xielong, Binjiang, Bayao, Xinxie, Xiyu, Chenxi, Joy Chen and Chen Dong. From June 5438 to February 2000, Chenjia Town and Yu 'an Town were abolished and a new Chenjia Town was established. In 2004, it governed two neighborhood committees in Hong and Chen Ying, Lixin, Xinqiao, Tieta, Donghai, Chaoyang, Joy Chen, Yingdong, Chenxi, Bayao, Xielong, Xijiagang, Huapiao, Chen Guang, Deyun, Yufeng, Xianfeng, Hongtian, Yubei, Zhanhong, Yu 'an and Yuxi.

The original Yu 'an Town is located in the southeast of Chongming Island, where the Yangtze River enters the sea in the north, 43 kilometers away from the county seat. Yu 'an commune was established in 1958, township in 1984 and town in 1994. 1997, with an area of 45.2 square kilometers and a population of 29,000, governs Yuxin, Xianfeng, Yufeng, Yunan, Lighthouse, Hongtian, Yudong, Yubei, Huapiao, Yuzhong, Wangxing, Zhanhong, Chen Guang, Yu 'an, Yongdong, Yuxi, Deyun and Jinxiu/kloc.
