1950 65438+February, East China Military University students graduated and assigned jobs. In April and May, I went to the General Hospital of the Military Region for another operation to remove the residual shrapnel and congestion in my left leg. At that time, I couldn't walk. /kloc-in October/February, a new task came: to establish the Military Academy of China People's Liberation Army. Marshal Liu Bocheng is the president and political commissar, Chen Shiqu is the vice president and director of education, and Zhong Qiguang is the deputy political commissar and director of the political department. Most of the new corps cadres of the East China Army and the North China Army participated in the establishment, and at the same time, a number of leading cadres were transferred from the whole army to establish various departments and offices. Director Zhong Qiguang transferred Yang Kai, Wu Jian and me from the Political Department of the Military University to participate in the compilation, and Xi Yin was transferred to the Ministry of Health of the Military Academy as a regimental political assistant at the beginning of May/KLOC-0. Most of the former cadres and organs of East China Military University moved to Xiaolingwei, and the third senior step school was established. 1952 was renamed as the ordinary senior step school. Chen Shiqu, the leader of the East China Army, went to the Military Academy, and Nie served as Minister of Education and Director, and was transferred to the Nanjing Air Force as Commander and Political Commissar. Military and political universities in major military regions have completed their historical missions and established a number of regular military academies to meet the needs of army building in the new era.

The military academy was the highest military academy of our army at that time. After intense preparation, cadre transfer, organization establishment, student transfer and camp division, the establishment ceremony of the military academy was held ceremoniously on June 5438+09565438+1October 65438+May 5, and a flag-raising and military parade ceremony was held in Tibei Square (north of the gymnasium) in the courtyard. Marshal Chen Yi awarded the military flag on behalf of the CMC, and Marshal Liu Bocheng received the flag. Both marshals made speeches after the military parade. Then the opening ceremony was held in the auditorium, and the formal training began (in fact, classes began on June 8, 65438). Since then, the anniversary of the military academy began at 65438+ 10/5, and continued every year.

Chairman Mao, the CPC Central Committee and the Central Military Commission attached great importance to the establishment of military schools. Chairman Mao personally wrote eight characters of "study hard and defend national defense" and issued "training words", which clarified the tasks of military schools in the new period and emphasized the standardization and modernization of army building. Therefore, carrying out Chairman Mao's inscription and motto and running the military academy well have become the guiding ideology of all the work of the college.

This important event in the construction of our army has also attracted the attention of American imperialism. Liu Shuai said at a meeting of hospital cadres: "The American news agency reported that China's army had set up a war university in Nanjing, of course, referring to our military school! We must run the college well just to make the imperialists afraid! " .

I feel very honored to be able to personally experience and participate in the important historical event of establishing a military school. I remember that the first thing I did after I arrived at the Political Department of the College was to draft the speech materials of Uniting to Run the Military Academy according to the oral instructions of Director Zhong Qiguang, which contributed to the construction of the College. At the time of preparation, various ministries were being set up one after another. At that time, I was the minister of propaganda, I was the director of education, Gu Zhun was the section chief of education, and Wu was the section chief of the youth section of the organization department. Later, our posts were constantly changing, but no one left the political department. I have worked in the military academy for nearly 20 years, which happened to be the golden age of 30 to 50 years. I accompanied this highest military academy from its establishment to its abolition. This is the unit where I have worked the longest time in my life, and it is also the unit where my children grow up one by one. Therefore, our family has deep feelings for the military school. It is natural that we love military schools and hate all damage and destruction to them!
