The famous singer who sings Yunnan folk songs must be the military soprano Ma Yutao. Her delicate and rich voice is unique in China. Her representative works, Horse, Go Slow, See You Especially Close, Water Happy Flowers with Many Hands, Shop Inspection of the Old Landlord and Good News, all have distinctive features, although they are not eye-catching high notes. No wonder some people classify Ma Yutao as a dramatic soprano according to the soprano classification of Bel Canto. She does have many qualities of a drama girl.

? Ma Yutao's "Horse, Walk Slowly" has been widely sung among the masses and become a household name since its publication 1962. Li, a poet in Yunnan, is poetic and picturesque. This song combines the euphemistic and delicate southern tone with the bold and simple northern tone, blends the tones of ethnic minorities and creates a new tone of "North-South integration". The rhythm of horseshoe galloping runs through the whole song, but it still gives people a sense of freedom because of the tight pull and slow singing in traditional Chinese opera music.

Teacher Ma's ability to combine her personality with the characteristics of songs is, in my opinion, her most precious artistic style. Unfortunately, every time she performs, she is always asked to perform one or two "label" songs (of course, these songs are also excellent). The classic works of Mars mentioned above can only be preserved in audio-visual products, which seems to be ignored. Like Zhang Yingzhe, a military soprano I wrote, Ms. Ma didn't have a chance to organize a concert of her own in her prime, but she was much luckier than Ms. Zhang Yingzhe, because she was able to leave several albums in audio-visual institutions.
