Xi University of Architecture and Technology (Xi University of Architecture and Technology) is sponsored by Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and jointly built by Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. It is characterized by civil architecture, environmental municipal administration, material metallurgy and related disciplines. Multi-disciplinary full-time colleges and universities with engineering technology as the main body have been selected as national schools implementing the education and training plan for outstanding engineers, pilot units for comprehensive reform of postgraduate professional degree education, national platform for postgraduate programs of high-level universities and institutions implementing international exchange programs for outstanding undergraduates, national demonstration universities deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, and innovative institutions for master of engineering education. The school is located in An, and the current Party Secretary Zhu and President Wang Shusheng. The school motto is "self-improvement, honesty, traceability and innovation".

As of September 2022, the school has two campuses, Yanta and Caotang, and a science and education industrial park, covering a total area of more than 3,700 mu. There are 3 national key disciplines, 9 first-class discipline doctoral degree authorization points and postdoctoral mobile stations, 1 doctoral degree authorization points, 27 first-class discipline master degree authorization points, and 18 master degree authorization points. There are 2 1 college, 65 undergraduate majors, 27 majors selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 35 majors selected as Shaanxi first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 1 state key laboratory of western green building, 1 national international scientific and technological cooperation base, 1 national think tank, 1 national achievement research and promotion center. There are 2 national and local joint engineering research centers, a collaborative innovation center 1 one jointly established by the provinces and ministries, a national technology transfer demonstration institution 1 one, 5 national (virtual simulation) experimental teaching demonstration centers, 3 Grade A qualified design and research institutes, and more than 0.800 full-time teachers1.

Xi University of Architecture and Technology, formerly known as Tianjin Beiyang Western School, was founded in 1895. 1956 when the departments of colleges and universities in China were adjusted, they were merged from the departments (branches) of civil engineering, architecture and municipal engineering of Northeast Institute of Technology, Northwest Institute of Technology, Qingdao Institute of Technology and Sunan Institute of Technology, and were named Xi 'an Institute of Architecture and Engineering at that time. From June 65438 to July 0956, the school was placed under the management of the former Ministry of Construction and Metallurgy, and it was a key university directly under the former Ministry of Metallurgy. 1959 and 1963, the school was renamed as Xi 'an Metallurgical Institute and Xi 'an Metallurgical Architecture Institute. 1March 8, 994, with the approval of the former State Education Commission, it was renamed as Xi University of Architecture and Technology. From 65438 to 0998, the school was handed over to the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government for management.
