Taierzhuang District is the jurisdiction of Zaozhuang City, located at the southernmost tip of Shandong Province, at the junction of Su Ru, with Yimeng Mountain in the east, Weishan Lake in the west, Xuzhou, a transportation hub in the south, and Qufu, the hometown of Confucius and Mencius in the north. It is called "the South Gate of Shandong". With a total area of 538.5 square kilometers, the whole region governs 5 towns, 1 street, 1 provincial economic development zone and 21/administrative village (residence).

Taierzhuang was formed in Han Dynasty, developed in Yuan Dynasty and flourished in Ming and Qing Dynasties. At the beginning of Qing Dynasty, Taierzhuang was quite prosperous, ranking first among the 40 market towns in ancient yi county. It was prosperous and rich, with merchants and teetering ships. Taierzhuang area has a long history. The cultural relics of Dawenkou Culture Age unearthed in Xilanchengdian Village, Malantun Town, Yueshi and Longshan Culture Age unearthed in Zhaocun Village, Pizhuang Town, and Shamicheng Site in Longshan Culture Age prove that human beings lived here in the Neolithic Age.

At present, the territory of Taierzhuang District belongs to Shan State in summer and forced Yang State in business, which is the reason of the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Spring and Autumn Period. The three kingdoms belong to Wei, and the counties follow the Eastern Han Dynasty. In the Western Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Donghai County first, then to Bi County of Lanling County in the north and to Fuyang County of Pengcheng in the west. In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the northern part belonged to Bi County of Lanling County and the western part belonged to Pengcheng County. In the Northern and Southern Dynasties, it belonged to Bijun and Lanling. Sui Dynasty belongs to Lanling County, Pengcheng County.

During the Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Yixian County, Yizhou, Henan Province. During the Five Dynasties, it belonged to Hou Liang, Later Tang Dynasty, Later Jin Dynasty, Later Han Dynasty and Later Zhou Dynasty, and it belonged to Yizhou County. During the Northern Song Dynasty, it belonged to Yizhou Yixian, JD.COM East Road. The Jin Dynasty belonged to Shandong West Road, Pizhou Lanling County, Henan Road and Yizhou Lanling County.

The Yuan Dynasty was under the jurisdiction of Lanling County, Yizhou, Shandong West Road, and a small part of it belonged to Wuyuan County, Pizhou. In the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Jining Prefecture, Shandong Province, and then to Yanzhou Prefecture. In the second year of Hongwu, Yizhou was reduced to Yixian. The Qing Dynasty belonged to Yixian County, Shandong Province, and now part of Zhangtuozi Town belongs to tengxian. The Republic of China followed the Qing Dynasty.

After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC),1June 1949 to1August 1953 was under the jurisdiction of Lanling County, Shandong Province, and1September 1953 to1June 1960 was under the jurisdiction of Yixian County, Shandong Province, 1960.
