Leaders of the Ministry of Commerce and the Guangdong Provincial Government, Chinese and foreign e-commerce experts and scholars, relevant leaders of industry associations and chambers of commerce, and representatives of well-known enterprises gathered together to have a strategic dialogue on vigorously developing e-commerce and helping Guangdong's industrial upgrading under the new situation.

The purpose of this summit forum is to explore how to scientifically apply e-commerce platform to help small and medium-sized enterprises change their business philosophy, innovate sales management mode, and enhance the comprehensive competitiveness and sustainable development ability of the market. After in-depth discussion and demonstration, the leaders, experts and scholars attending the meeting believe that Guangdong's e-commerce application foundation is quite mature and its industrial upgrading prospects are broad, so it is urgent for local e-commerce portals to play an active role.

Speech by Wan, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province

Wan, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, attended the forum and delivered a speech. He pointed out that the information industry is the pillar industry of China's economy, and the level of informatization development is an important symbol of the comprehensive competitiveness of countries and regions. At present, Guangdong is in a critical period of optimizing industrial structure and promoting industrial transformation and upgrading. This summit forum focuses on the development of modern information service industry and discusses with the theme of "e-commerce helps industrial upgrading", which is of great significance for further promoting the docking of manufacturing industry and service industry and the integration of informationization and industrialization.

Zhang Zhigang, deputy director of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Economic Commission, former vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce, chairman of China Foreign Trade Center, He Jihai, president of China Business Federation, Dong Songgen, former vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Domestic Trade, vice president of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (China International Chamber of Commerce), and heads of relevant departments such as Guangdong Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Department and Information Industry Department also attended the forum.

Chinese and foreign experts and scholars offer suggestions.

Guan, Deputy Director of the Information Department of the Ministry of Commerce of China, delivered a keynote speech on "E-commerce Boosting the Harmonious and Balanced Development of Export Trade" at the forum. He believes that industrial upgrading must first solve the information problem and establish a high-quality and efficient information management platform; Guangdong has a good information base. Under the background of economic globalization, with the support of the government and chambers of commerce at all levels, e-commerce is poised to become the key direction to promote the industrial upgrading of SMEs and the harmonious and balanced development of export trade.

Subsequently, Chen Wenjie, president of the Guangdong Council for the Promotion of International Trade, delivered a speech, analyzing the measures and prospects of e-commerce to help economic and trade cooperation from the perspective of innovative service methods.

Professor Ye Li from the School of Business Administration of South China University of Technology delivered a speech, analyzing and studying the current situation of e-commerce in China: more than 9% of enterprises in China have applied e-commerce, and the total amount of e-commerce transactions in 2008 is expected to reach 200 billion yuan, of which foreign trade accounts for more than 80%; Small and medium-sized enterprises are an important force in the application of e-commerce. The scale and output value of small and medium-sized enterprises in Guangdong rank first in the country, and the degree of networking is in a leading position in the country. We can learn from Zhejiang's successful model and experience to accelerate the application of e-commerce.

Ms. Su, CEO of Tyon Co., Ltd. of the United States, also delivered a speech at the forum, introducing the development trend of B2B industry in the United States and the experience that can be used for reference in China, and at the same time being very optimistic about the prospect of developing e-commerce in Guangdong.

Portal helps "Made in China"

Liang Jinsheng, Chairman of China Import and Export Commodity Network, delivered a keynote speech entitled "E-commerce Platform Helps China's Manufacturing Industry Upgrade". He pointed out that "Made in China" products have penetrated into every corner of the world, and the output of more than 100 kinds of finished products has become "the first in the world". At the same time, problems such as lack of brand, lack of access to information and lack of process control are becoming increasingly prominent, which greatly restricts the play of its own advantages. He also said that China Import and Export Commodity Network, relying on the resources of the Canton Fair's import and export trade platform, has four service platforms: website, foreign trade assistant, global exhibition and chamber of commerce journal, and will spare no effort to promote the balanced development of China's import and export trade and help upgrade "Made in China" in all directions.

According to reports, China Import and Export Commodity Network is the first B2B website with two-way import and export function in China-the special "China Import Supplier" area, which provides product display and supply information release for foreign manufacturing enterprises, and it is also the first B2B website connecting international buyers and industrial clusters in China. The website search service first focuses on presenting characteristic industrial clusters all over the country for the convenience of international buyers.

Dialogue: e-commerce helps industrial upgrading

Wang Hanjiang, President of China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Light Industrial Crafts, Wang Yuanjiang, Vice President of China Minmetals Chemical Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, Liang Jinsheng, Chairman of China Import and Export Commodity Network of Canton Fair Import and Export Co., Ltd., and Steven Poole, CEO of US 1ST PMF Bank, started a dialogue and conducted in-depth discussions on the topic of "e-commerce helps industrial upgrading".

Participants in the dialogue believe that small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong, especially foreign trade-oriented enterprises, are facing difficulties such as rising raw material and labor costs and shrinking international demand, and urgently need to accelerate the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure. Through technological innovation and information technology, with the help of excellent e-commerce platform, we can help "Made in China" break through the bottleneck of industrial upgrading, gain new competitive advantages, and make a smooth progress from traditional manufacturing to modern manufacturing. Some experts also said that the application of e-commerce can penetrate into every link of the industrial chain and promote the sustainable development of the industry, and the government has promoted the development of e-commerce to a strategic height, making Guangdong the "e-commerce capital" of South China, which urgently needs excellent e-commerce portals to play a leading role.

After the summit dialogue, China Import & Export Commodity Network signed strategic cooperation agreements with relevant leaders of Guangdong Internet Expo, American South China Chamber of Commerce, French leroy merlin Group, American 1ST PMF Bank, American China Trade City Company, American Tyon Co., Ltd., Guangdong SME Development Promotion Association, American UPS China Shenzhen Company, etc., which will build a comprehensive information platform and enrich the development of SMEs.
