Tian Zhiyuan, an old subordinate of Deng Xiaoping, was born in the second field. With the fall of Deng Xiaoping, he was labeled as a rightist, divorced from his wife Cao Hui, who liked to follow the crowd politically, and lived alone with his son Tian Yuan.
After the downfall of the Gang of Four, Deng Xiaoping came out to preside over the work, and Tian Zhiyuan returned to work in Deng Xiaoping, becoming Deng Xiaoping's right-hand man (in the play, the director of the State Council Policy Research Office), which made great contributions to the reform and opening up.
Extended data:
The prototype of Tian Zhiyuan should be a patchwork of the experiences of Deng Liqun, Yu Guangyuan and Du Runsheng.
According to the film crew, Tian Zhiyuan mixed several prototypes. Although Deng Liqun and Yu Guangyuan both worked in the Political Research Office of the State Council and later served as vice presidents of the China Academy of Social Sciences, their ideology was quite different. Deng Liqun is more conservative, while Yu Guangyuan is more liberal.
Although some specific plots in Tian Zhiyuan's play coincide with Deng Liqun's, judging from the remarks of "Tian Zhiyuan" in the play, he is obviously inclined to reform and is closer to Yu Guangyuan ideologically. Moreover, both Tian Zhiyuan and Yu Guangyuan have the word "far" in their names, which can also be used as proof.
