During his lifetime, Mr. Chen was very strict with himself, very low-key and unobtrusive, so there were limited photos and less video materials to find Mr. Chen. So I mobilized the teachers who worked with Mr. Chen to go to the studio of Mr. Han Zhenkun of the School of Architecture for many times to guide the on-site revision of the clay draft of the statue. At this time, I found that Mr. Chen left an indelible memory in the minds of computer people in Harbin Institute of Technology, and he has become an adult of Harbin Institute of Technology.

After the clay manuscript was completed, I began to cast bronze statues. Thought of asking the old headmaster Chang Li to write an inscription for Mr. Chen, I contacted the old headmaster several times. Finally, Professor Qiang, former vice president of Harbin Institute of Technology, went to the old headmaster's house and got the precious inscription of the old headmaster for Mr. Chen.

On June 5th, it was sunny in full of green. Teachers, students and alumni of Grade 8 1 and Grade 82 gathered in the lobby on the first floor of Computer College, where the unveiling ceremony of the bronze statue of Mr. Chen Guangxi, the founder of computer major of Harbin Institute of Technology, was solemnly held, which was also the climax of the activity of "Twenty years after graduation, my alma mater will meet again". At 9: 00 am, Professor Cui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Harbin Institute of Technology, Professor Xu, Dean of the School of Computer Science, and representatives of 8 1 82 alumni jointly unveiled the statue of Teacher Chen. The red cloth was slowly unveiled, and Mr. Chen stood in front of everyone vividly, which made the people present awe. Dean Xu said in his speech that Mr. Chen left us not only a major, but also a "Guangxi spirit", that is, "Harbin Institute of Technology has strict specifications and works hard at home; Seeking truth from facts, the spirit of innovation, exploration and enterprising; Honest and frank, tolerant of others' excellent character; Enthusiasm, tireless noble sentiment. "In the past 50 years, computer scientists at Harbin Institute of Technology have built a major into a first-class computer discipline in China, ranking fourth among universities in the country.
