brief Introduction of the content

This book is a concise reading about the common sense of ancient culture in China, which is presided over by Professor Wang Li and compiled by many experts. After more than 50 years of publication and four revisions, it is still the most important and comprehensive basic reference book for the public to understand the ancient culture of China. The book is divided into fourteen aspects, such as customs, patriarchal clan system, food and clothing. This book has been published in Hongkong and Taiwan Province, translated into Japanese and Korean, and is very popular at home and abroad.

This revision breaks through the previous model, and specially invites Lewis Eden, a sinologist who teaches in the United States, to supplement the latest cultural research results from the perspectives of archaeology and anthropology based on the achievements of the golden age of archaeology in China and through the "new evidence of ancient history" combining recent archaeological discoveries with traditional documents. The revised manuscript and photo annotations are all empty talk, concise and innovative, and the level is the best in similar publications for decades. In the revised content, some pictures matching the manuscript have been added, and the photo resolution of some key cultural relics is also amazing. The revised draft is very practical and interesting, and the revision committee has also cleared the obstacles of words and basic concepts for interested middle school students to read this book.
