Determined to serve our country, Gao Zhiyuan recruited more than 200 brave people from the local area to form an anti-Japanese volunteer army to support the Great Wall in the war of resistance. Later, on1July 7, 937, the third district of Luanxian County was elected as the captain of the public security corps. In August, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China published the famous "Ten Programs for Resisting Japan and Saving the Nation" at Luochuan Conference, and decided to open up the battlefield behind enemy lines and carry out guerrilla warfare against Japan. Gao Zhiyuan warmly supports China's United front proposition and is willing to give his head and blood for War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. He has served as a member of the North China People's Armed Self-Defense Committee, deputy director of the Jidong branch of the North China People's Self-Defense Committee, and commander-in-chief of the Third Military Region of the North China Anti-Japanese Coalition (commander-in-chief of the Jidong Anti-Japanese Coalition). In a very short period of time, Gao Zhiyuan commanded the uprising troops to fight bravely, occupied all the towns and puppet army strongholds in Chang, Luan and Le counties except Chang and Luanxian, and liberated millions of people south of Beining Road to the Bohai Sea. 1In August, 938, he followed the fourth column of the Eighth Route Army to the west and had different views on the struggle against the enemy with the fourth column. Coupled with other social factors, he was murdered by Tu Tu and executed in April 1939. There was no rehabilitation after liberation. (His grandson Gao Xiaoping recalled that he had not been rehabilitated until the Cultural Revolution.)
