Table 44-2 Comparison of Chemical Components between Gleditsia sinensis and Other Leguminosae Forages (percentage of air-dried matter)
As can be seen from Table 44-2, the crude protein content of Gleditsia sinensis. It is 15.8%, second only to wild soybean. Its crude fat content is 8.6%, which is the highest among all wild leguminous grasses in Daliu, Anhui Province, and its crude fiber content is only 23. 1%, which is lower than other leguminous grasses.
It can be seen from Table 44-3 that the digestible protein, digestible energy and metabolic energy of Gleditsia sinensis in fresh grass. 77g/kg, 20.99MJ/kg and 5.86MJ/kg, respectively, far higher than the other four leguminous grasses. They are 84g/kg and 1020 respectively.
As can be seen from Table 44-4, Gleditsia sinensis contains all amino acids needed by domestic animals, and the contents of various amino acids are almost higher than those of other control grasses. In particular, the content of aspartic acid is as high as 5.42%, which is 4-5 times higher than that of the control feed.
See Table 44-5 for the contents of trace elements in Gleditsia sinensis. Except that the iron content is lower than Caragana korshinskii, broom and grasshopper, other trace elements are much higher than the control leguminous forage. It can be seen that the nutritional value of Gleditsia sinensis is relatively high.

Gleditsia sinensis is one of the best grasses that cattle and sheep like to eat in Daliu Sheep Farm in Chuxian County, Anhui Province. According to the grazing survey, its palatability was rated as the favorite food grade. During the vegetative growth period, all kinds of livestock on the ground can do it, but after flowering, they only eat their shoots and fruits.

In addition, Gleditsia sinensis can be used as medicine to induce diuresis and detoxify; The stem skin is tough and can be stripped of fibers; It is also an excellent green manure plant; Its seeds can not only be used as concentrated feed, but also be used by farmers in Donghai County, Jiangsu Province to make non-staple food similar to tofu.
Key points of cultivation
Gleditsia sinensis is an annual feed plant. In order to establish Gleditsia sinensis artificial grassland, the land must be selected according to its ecological adaptability. If land grassland is established, plots with good water conditions must be selected; If shallow artificial grassland is established, the accumulated water should not be too deep, and generally it is better to be within 20cm. However, both dry land cultivation and paddy field cultivation need good fertility conditions. If the soil fertility is insufficient, more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied.
After the plot is selected, the land should be plowed and raked before sowing, and the clods should be divided into small pieces and the ground should be flat to facilitate sowing and seedling emergence.
Gleditsia sinensis can be planted in spring, autumn and winter in subtropical areas. Spring sowing is suitable in late March or early April, and it should be postponed for about 10 days in temperate regions. If an artificial grassland is established, it is necessary to drill; Semi-artificial grassland is suitable for sowing, and the covering depth is1-1.5 cm. To establish Gleditsia sinensis grassland in paddy field, it is best to sow in low water in winter to prevent pods or seeds from being unevenly distributed in water. If sowing in autumn and winter, it is best to sow with pods. After a winter, the shell is rotten, and the seedlings emerge neatly in spring, which can improve the emergence rate. For example, when sowing in spring, the shell should be removed to facilitate the seeds to germinate as soon as possible, and the germination rate of seeds is generally 85%. The 1000-grain weight is generally 7.9 grams, and no special treatment is needed before sowing. If the field is built, the suitable sowing amount is 1kg/ mu; The optimum sowing amount for establishing artificial grassland is 65438 0.5 kg per mu.
The utilization of Gleditsia sinensis grassland, such as grazing land, should be grazing before germination, such as cutting until it is fully flowering. In this way, forage grass can keep more nutrients and obtain higher grass yield. If you harvest seeds, it is best to harvest 70-80% of mature pods. If the harvest is late, the precocious pods are easy to fall off, which affects the harvest, or a mature batch is used to harvest a batch.
Gleditsia sinensis is vulnerable to aphids, especially the tender stems and leaves of plants. When pests appear, spray them immediately.
