Dr Yongchun Zheng, a planetary scientist and popular science writer. He loves science communication and began to engage in popular science creation in 2004. Member of New Media Professional Committee of China Popular Science Writers Association, director of Beijing Popular Science Creation Association and honorary member of Shanghai Popular Science Writers Association. China columnist of Xinhua News Agency, special commentator on global information of China Radio International, special commentator on news broadcast of Beijing People's Broadcasting Station, and intellectual signing writer. Zhihu, a famous blogger of Science Network and China Science Expo, is a special contributor to China Lunar Exploration and Deep Space Exploration Network. China Association for Science and Technology, head of China Deep Space Science Popularization Team, member of the Expert Committee of Chinese Academy of Juvenile Sciences, and instructor of youth science and technology activities of China Science and Technology Museum.

Graduated from Southwest University (formerly Southwest Agricultural University) majoring in environmental protection in 2000. In 2005, he received a Ph.D. degree in geochemistry from China Academy of Sciences/Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (formerly Graduate School of China Academy of Sciences), and studied under academicians Wang Shijie, Li Chunlai and Ouyang Ziyuan. In the same year, he joined the National Astronomical Observatory of Chinese Academy of Sciences to engage in scientific research. He has worked and visited the General Department of Lunar and Deep Space Exploration of China Academy of Sciences, the Space Science Research Center of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Space Science Research Institute of Macau University of Science and Technology for many years. His study and research fields involve astronomy, planets, aerospace, geology, chemistry, agriculture and environmental protection. At present, his main research interests are moon and planetary science, solar system exploration and manned deep space exploration.

The first batch of candidates for Xiangjiang Scholar Program, the first batch of members of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the academic secretary of the chief scientist of the lunar application in the lunar exploration project, the academic secretary of the Lunar and Planetary Science Laboratory of Macau University of Science and Technology-the partner laboratory of the Key Laboratory of Lunar and Deep Space Exploration of China Academy of Sciences, the director of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of Chinese Academy of Sciences and the head of the publicity outreach group, the first leader of the Youth Promotion Association of National Astronomical Observatory, one of the founders of the Youth Astronomy Forum of Chinese Astronomical Society, a member of the International Planetary Society and a representative of the China Young Science and Technology Workers Association.

He has won the first outstanding member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Dean Award of China Academy of Sciences, the meritorious person award for the complete success of the first lunar exploration project in China, the outstanding contribution award for the No.2 mission of the lunar exploration project, the Xiangjiang Scholar Award and the nomination award for the China scientific journalist.

He is the author of Flying Over Pluto, and participated in the compilation of China Citizens' Scientific Literacy Series, Chinese Lunar Exploration, Lunar Range Rover-the Moon World Known to Mankind, and the Moon and Deep Space Exploration.

Dr. Yongchun Zheng is currently an associate researcher at the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and head of the promotion team. He is mainly engaged in the study of lunar and planetary geology, and has new knowledge and understanding in the fields of lunar and Martian soil, in-situ utilization of planetary resources, planetary surface environment, scientific objectives and future development strategies of lunar and deep space exploration. Dr. Yongchun Zheng successfully developed the first simulated lunar soil in China, analyzed the detection data of Chang 'e-1 and Chang 'e-2 lunar exploration projects, obtained high-resolution microwave images of the whole month, and found more than 200 lunar thermal anomalies.

The Planetary Science Branch of the American Astronomical Society announced on 9 May that Dr. Yongchun Zheng from the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was awarded the 20 16 carl sagan Outstanding Achievement Award for Public Communication of Planetary Science in recognition of Dr. Yongchun Zheng's important contribution to planetary science research and scientific communication. The Society will present prizes at the joint meeting of the Planetary Science Branch of the American Astronomical Society and the European Planetary Science Congress in Pasadena, California, USA from June 65438 to1October 65438 to June 265438.
