Muyu song, also known as "fishing song", was popular in Wanyi 360 years ago. It is one of the Han rap arts in Guangdong Province, which is popular in the Pearl River Delta, Xijiang and Nanlu, and belongs to the tanci system. Muyu Song originated in the late Ming Dynasty and flourished after the Qing Dynasty. Its popularity in Wan Yi can be traced back to more than 360 years ago. The earliest existing wooden fish song in Guangdong is Ya Ya written by Kuang Lu (1606- 1650) in Nanhai in Ming Dynasty.
His second book, "Poems on the Rhyme of Po Hou Opera", addressed to Liang Zhongyu, a royal gift, saying, "Pipa plays wooden fish, and Jinse spreads fragrant ants." Zhu Yizun (1629- 1709), a famous poet in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, once wrote a poem "What I saw in Dongguan Books" (note: Dongguan is an ancient name for Dongguan), and the word goes: "If the fishing song is not successful, the cool moon will come out of the forest. ..... when I sing and fish, I will listen to it under the moon. " Written in the seventeenth year of Kangxi (1678), Guangdong Xinyu records: "Guangdong folk songs are good, and whenever they are auspicious, they will be sung for fun.
..... His long songs, such as Lian Chang Gong Ci and Pipa Xing, are all hundreds of words. Three strings together, each string in the air has a beginning and an end. Gaitaiqun tune also. It's called' Fishing Song'. (Poetry and Cantonese Opera, Volume 12). "
