Mentor direction is a research direction given to you by your mentor. You don't have to write it, but the research results can be written.

In fact, most people didn't find it consistent with their imagination until they were admitted to graduate school. This psychological gap must exist, and some people don't like the research direction given by their tutors. My suggestion is to settle down when they come.
