Ginkgo biloba is a rare tree species left over from Mesozoic era, belonging to Ginkgo genus of Ginkgoaceae. Only China and Tianmu Mountain in Zhejiang Province have wild ginkgo biloba. China is not only the hometown of Ginkgo biloba, but also one of the earliest and richest countries and regions in its cultivation, utilization and research.
Ginkgo biloba in China is mainly distributed in more than 60 counties and cities in Shandong, Hubei, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Anhui, Hunan, Guizhou, Guangxi and Guangdong provinces. Among them, the ancient ginkgo town is Luoyang Town, Suizhou City, Hubei Province, and the ancient ginkgo tree in the Millennium Ginkgo Valley Scenic Area in Zengdu District is one of the four densely populated ancient ginkgo communities in the world.

2. Trees in Dandong City
Ginkgo tree has a history of thousands of years in Dandong. As early as the early 1930s, Dandong transplanted ginkgo trees on both sides of the street. According to data research, there are only six streets in Asian countries where ginkgo trees are planted, and there are three in Dandong. /kloc-for more than 0/00 years, Dandong has the largest number of ginkgo trees in Asian countries.
A ginkgo tree in Dagushan Temple in Dandong is over 300 years old/kloc-0. It is 35 meters high and its fruit (i.e. seeds) reaches several hundred kilograms every year. In the streets and parks of Dandong city, there are quite a number of ginkgo trees with the age of 300-500 years, and almost all the main streets in the city are covered by ginkgo trees with the age of 100 years.
