If you want to study in Germany successfully, it is very important to know the steps clearly. This is what many students want to know, so in view of this situation, I carefully arranged the steps to apply for studying in Germany for your reference!
Step 1: Consultation
First of all, you need to ask about your chosen major in a German school, to determine whether it is necessary for you to choose this major or whether you can study in Germany, and then to determine the admission requirements of your chosen school, and to determine whether you can meet the standards according to the existing academic qualifications of your chosen major. At the same time, what you need to know is the prospect of studying in Germany.
Step 2: Training
In order to better adapt to the learning environment in Germany and communicate with people, you can take short-term training before going abroad.
Step 3: Prepare information.
This can be done while you are training. Prepare audit materials. It may take nearly a month because of the school and notarization, and there are other things you need. It should be noted that the rest time of school in winter and summer vacations will be very time-consuming if it is not calculated. At the same time, you can apply for a passport, which takes 1-2 weeks.
The audit materials shall be submitted during the holidays when the primary school is finished and the primary school is finished (due to the problem of proof of class hours, individuals can choose by themselves). I suggest that you review as soon as the primary school is over, or during the middle school, at least in the middle school, because the results of the review will not come out immediately, so you can easily choose whether to apply for the school or take the advanced DSH exam.
Note: Don't forget to remit money, the price has gone up now.
Step 4: Prepare for review and exam.
Generally, the waiting time for the exam is 4 weeks, and the exam will be held in 2 weeks. In primary and intermediate learning, we should consciously find some German words related to our major, or simply prepare English.
Auditing is not difficult, which everyone needs to know. When auditing, you must pay attention to it and speak as much as possible, so that you can cheer yourself up and show your expertise intuitively. In fact, some professional auditors don't understand it at all, just like if you teach grammar to a person who doesn't know German, will he/she definitely say that you are wrong? It's not good to be too confident until he/she says "stop!" It's not that he/she is angry, it's that you win, unless he/she says it in a rage.
Step 5: Apply for a school.
You can download the general application form for foreign students from German universities from the website, because each university has its own form, which is very complicated and some questions are even strange, which will only bring you trouble. When applying for a school, I hope everyone can be more patient and consult others. Send it as early as possible. It is recommended to use registered mail because it will not be lost. If you don't have enough time, you can use "global priority mail", which will arrive in almost 7 days, but you can't register. The waiting time for application varies from school to school, but you must ensure that you receive the notice more than 6 weeks before the arrival time in Germany indicated in the notice. Some universities in Germany require students to submit applications to an organization called ASSIST. )
Step 6: Open an account and remit money.
You can open accounts with Deutsche Bank (ITC) and Baden Bank (Maliang Building). Germany is equivalent to Germany's national bank, which is basically found all over the country. Baden is regional and there are many in southwest Germany. In addition, Germany pays an account opening fee of 760 more than Baden. In addition, Baden had to wait nearly 1 week to get the account number, and needed to pay extra RMB in 50 yuan, which was possible in Germany at that time.
Germany has to queue up, but Baden generally doesn't have to. Every bank will issue you an exchange certificate. If you have the ability to get a euro "remittance account", don't take out cash and remit it directly to a German account, which can save a lot of money. Because when the bank remits money, if you remit cash, it will charge you the money needed to convert your cash into "cash".
Since February 2004, the German Embassy has required China students to provide proof of insurance when submitting their study visas.
Step 7: hand in your signature.
Delivery should be made at least 6 weeks in advance. If you have any questions, you'd better go to the front desk of the Audit Department for consultation on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning, and they will answer them patiently. As for the waiting time for signing, we should pay attention to continuing to learn German.
There are three kinds of visa results: 1. It usually takes 1 month to get a visa successfully. I didn't get the visa. 2-3 weeks after signing the visa, I was called to the embassy for questioning, and I used German. If I succeed, I will get the visa soon.
Step 8: Book air tickets.
If you are a summer semester student, it will be good to go to Germany in March. Book your air tickets 1 month in advance. If you are a student in the winter semester, that is, September and June, it must be at least two months in advance, because September is the tourist season in Europe, and the ticket is very uncertain. Air China didn't have a student ticket when booking air tickets in August. All foreign airlines have to change planes, except Lufthansa, to facilitate her arrival in Germany. Everyone goes to other cities in Germany by train, and the rest is in the evening and evening. Usually you have to go to Frankfurt and Munich before you can reach all parts of Germany by train.
Differences in applying for different types of universities
Apply for a comprehensive university (Universitaet):
Generally can be divided into three steps:
1. Write a letter (in German or English) to the foreign affairs office of the university you want to apply for according to the address, briefly introduce yourself, including your name, gender, date of birth and education (major and degree you studied), explain the major you want to apply for and the semester of admission (Wintersemester or Somerset), and ask for relevant materials and application forms.
2. Prepare various application materials according to the requirements of German university defense.
3. Send all the application materials at once, without omission, including the completed application form, language certificate or certificate and materials that must be notarized.
Apply to the University of Applied Sciences (FH):
1. Write to the school you apply for six months or one year in advance, with the following contents: a brief introduction (including academic qualifications); Ask for professional introduction, application instructions and the "Application Form for Admission" made by the school; Understand the exchange office of "Admission Qualification Audit Office".
2. After receiving the reply, send my various academic certificates (including language certificate, internship certificate, etc.). ) Go to the Admission Qualification Examination Office of Honshu University of Applied Sciences.
3. After receiving a positive reply, that is, after obtaining the "Fachhocchul-Zugangsbrechtigong" certificate, send all the materials (including: admission qualification certificate, filled-in application form, diploma notarized certificate, internship certificate and language certificate) to the school (only in this state) for formal application. In this process, all the work should be arranged in a planned way to be orderly. In particular, we should pay attention to the special professional requirements put forward in the school letter so as to make early preparations.
Is it necessary to have an internship certificate to apply for FH?
To apply for engineering, design and other majors, you need to submit a valid internship certificate. This must be clearly understood from the school as soon as possible, and preparations and arrangements will be made in time, otherwise it will be caught off guard. If you haven't done professional practice, you might as well write to several FH to consult and see if some schools can let you make up for it in Germany after you get to school.
Apply for art design major.
Art majors have some special requirements for applicants, so you must write to the relevant universities in advance (preferably one year in advance) to ask for background materials about the major, and then send my works and other materials in time as required to avoid delaying the application because of inaccurate information. Once you pass Vorauswahl and receive the "examination notice" from the school, you should apply for a valid visa to go to Germany to take the "professional ability examination" immediately. Pass the exam, get the "Professional Admission Qualification" and formally enter the school with a qualified language certificate.
Are there any exceptions for applicants majoring in music, art and design in terms of admission requirements and German proficiency requirements?
The basic requirements are the same as other majors. However, music, art and design classes submit a certain number of works (exercises) to participate in the pre-selection according to different specific professional needs. German proficiency requirements are basically the same as those of other majors, and can be relaxed in some cases. If the applicants majoring in music, art and design have special talents, German art colleges and FH design majors can make an exception if they have insufficient academic qualifications, but they must pass the "Begabtenpruefung".
"quota restriction" major
Some "hot" majors have limited study places due to too many applicants, while federal or state universities impose "quota restrictions" on freshmen (Zulassungsbecheraenkungen: Numerus Claus, NC). Among them, a certain percentage of places are allocated exclusively to foreign students. The key to being admitted is the applicant's academic performance (college entrance examination score+university score, conversion); Freshmen may have to take a professional written test and finally choose the best.
Which majors fall within the scope of "quota restriction"
In fact, there is no absolute limit, which depends on the situation of federal (hard indicators) and state universities (soft indicators). Generally speaking, the "hot" majors related to international students are: medicine, pharmacy, biology (including biochemistry, biotechnology, etc. ), psychology, informatics, architecture, national economics, business economics/management, etc.
