Xuan Wudi and Yuan Ke in the Northern Wei Dynasty: How did Yuan Ke die?
Yuan Ke, the second son of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty (D5 15), was the eighth emperor of the Northern Wei Dynasty during the Southern and Northern Dynasties, and reigned for 499 to 5 15 years.

In the seventh year of Taihe (483), Yuan Ke was born in the Peace Palace. In the 21st year of Taihe (497), he was established as the Crown Prince. In the 23rd year of Taihe (499), Emperor Xiaowen died, and Yuan Ke acceded to the throne as Xuan Wudi. Extension of four years (5 15), Yuan Kezu, aged 33. His temple name is Sejong, Emperor Xuanwu of posthumous title, and he was buried in Jingling.

Yuan Ke, Xuan Wudi of Northern Wei Dynasty, was born in Pingcheng (now Datong, Shanxi) Palace on the fifth day of April in the seventh year of Taihe (483). Yuan Ke's birth made his father Justin, Emperor Xiaowen, very happy, so he ordered an amnesty. On the 17th day of the first month in the 21st year of Taihe (497), Emperor Xiaowen appointed Yuan Ke as the Crown Prince.

On March 24th, the 23rd year of Taihe (499), Emperor Xiaowen was seriously ill. On March 28th, Emperor Xiaowen ordered Stuart Xie Yuan to send someone to Luoyang, and asked the Crown Prince Yuan Ke to accede to the throne in Luyang. Appointed Shi Zhong, general of the garrison, Beihai as Sigong, Zhennan general Wang Su as Shangshu Ling, Zhennan general and Yuanjia as Shangshu Zuofushe, Shangshu as the official department Shangshu, and assisted with Shi Zhong, Qiu, Shangshu Youfushe and Rencheng. On April 1st, Emperor Xiaowen died. On April 12th, Yuan Ke proclaimed himself Xuan Wudi in Luyang, and changed his name to Jingming. During Xuan Wudi's mourning, the Governor was appointed as the left and right prime ministers. On April 24th, Gao's mother was honored as the queen. On the fifth day of August, according to Emperor Xiaowen's testament, all the concubines below the third wife of Emperor Xiaowen were sent home.

How did Yuan Ke die after four years' extension?

On the 10th day of the first month, Xuan Wudi fell ill. On the 13th of the first month, Xuan Wudi died in Shigantang at the age of 33. On the first day of February, posthumous title was Emperor Xuanwu, with the temple name Sejong. On February 21st, he was buried in Jingling (Mangshan Mountain in the north of Luoyang, Henan Province).
