The name of Xinjiang was decided by Emperor Qianlong. Since the Qin and Han Dynasties, it has been clearly called the Western Regions. The Western Regions were established in the Han Dynasty and Anxi County was established in the Tang Dynasty. The territory reached as far as Iran, including Central Asia, bordering the Arab Empire at that time, and there was a war. At first, the Tang dynasty firmly prevailed, but later it failed due to domestic problems and Arab sneak attacks. In the Song Dynasty, because Tubo and Liao only owned the southeastern part of the Western Region, they were also called the Western Region. In the Ming Dynasty, a few areas in the western regions belonged to Daming Hami Wei, and most other areas belonged to Yili Bali and Waci, which were the remnants of Mongols. The Qing Dynasty recovered the Western Regions, and became Xinjiang in Qianlong, which continues to this day. But Xinjiang at that time included four Central Asian countries, namely Kazakhstan and other regions. It was later occupied by the Soviet Union.
