Huqiu district, alias Suzhou High-tech Zone and Suzhou New District, belongs to Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China. Located in the west of Suzhou Ancient City, it is adjacent to Shihu and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal in the east, bounded by Xinyou Street, Sanyuan Street and Baiyangwan Street in gusu district, adjacent to Huqiu Street in gusu district and Huangqiao Street in Xiangcheng District, and bordered by Yuexi Street, Mudu Town, Cang Shu Town and Guangfu Town in Wuzhong District in the south. Suzhou Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone is located within the jurisdiction of huqiu district and co-located with huqiu district government agencies.
By the end of June 5438 +2020 10, it had jurisdiction over four streets, namely Shishan, Hengtang, Qiao Feng and Dongzhu, and two towns, Hushuguan and Tongan.

Huqiu district was founded in 195 1, then called suburb, and was divided into east and west areas by Wuxian.
Before February 1992, Suzhou High-tech Zone had no independent administrative jurisdiction. ?
1In March, 1992, the newly-built Hexi New District of Suzhou began to take charge of six administrative villages, namely Yonghe, Huo Xing, Shuguang, Luoxing, Heshan and Shishan, which belong to Hengtang Town, a suburb of Suzhou.
On April 2nd 1993, Suzhou Hexi New District was renamed Suzhou New District.
On September 8, 2000, it was approved to change its name to huqiu district, which has jurisdiction over three towns, namely Hengtang, Huqiu and Hushuguan, Baiyangwan Street and Hushuguan Economic Development Zone.
In September 2002, the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government adjusted the new district, huqiu district, Xiangcheng District and Wuzhong District. Huqiu district Huqiu Town, Baiyangwan Street and some villages in Hengtang Town are zoned, and Xiangcheng District and Wuzhong District are zoned into Tongan Town, Dongzhu Town and Zhenhu Street, and Suzhou High-tech Zone is established.
