Pavilion is a traditional building in ancient China. Whether it is Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, or royal aristocrats, the pavilion is regarded as a symbol of sacredness, dignity and majesty. Pavilions are generally buildings with more than two floors, with wood as the main building material. Ancient pavilions and pavilions are generally built by the water, sparkling and beautiful. Therefore, these pavilions are often places where literati gather, climbing high and looking far, chanting poems, singing and dancing, feasting and having fun.
Many famous literary works were born because of pavilions, and these pavilions are also famous for their articles. Wang Tengting, one of the "three famous buildings in the south of the Yangtze River", is famous all over the world because of Wang Bo's Preface to Wang Tengting, one of the "four outstanding figures in the early Tang Dynasty". Preface to Wang Tengting has also become a classic and immortal work.
In the early days of Tengwangge's construction, it was only for the dignitaries of the Yuan Dynasty to enjoy lanterns, flowers in spring, cool in summer, mountain climbing in autumn and snow in winter. They drink tea, listen to the piano, watch paintings, dance and write in the pavilion. In the second year of the Tang Dynasty (675), Wang Bo passed through Hongzhou (now Nanchang), and Hongzhou secretariat Yan invited him to eat in the pavilion. He extemporaneously wrote "Preface to Wang Tengting in Hongzhou in Autumn", namely "Preface to Wang Tengting". Since then, the old county town of Nanchang, which is "materialized into a treasure, outstanding people and outstanding people", has become famous, and "Sunset and lonely Qi Fei, autumn water grow together" has become a famous sentence throughout the ages.
Tengwang Pavilion is not only a scenic building, but also a place for storing ancient classics, which is equivalent to an ancient library. In ancient times, most feudal literati greeted and entertained guests here. Your son of heaven, Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty, once gave a banquet in the pavilion after Chen Youliang defeated Poyang Lake. At that time, literati wrote poems and lyrics, and dignitaries watched the lights and enjoyed the moon, which was very lively.
Most ancient buildings are "wiped out by natural disasters, and their rise and fall are due to time", and Wang Teng Pavilion is no exception. According to the existing historical materials, Wang Tengting was built by Li Yuanying of Wang Teng in the 4th year of Tang Yonghui (653) and was destroyed in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, in the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926). During this period, it was built and repaired, destroyed and built 28 times.
The current pavilion was completed at 1989, which is the 29th reconstruction. The main pavilion was redesigned according to the Sketch of Reconstruction of Nanchang Wangtengge, which was drawn by Mr. Liang Sicheng 1942, and with reference to the book of Song Dynasty Painting Wangtengge and Song Dynasty Architectural Style collected by Teana Pavilion. This is a large-scale ancient building that imitates the Song Dynasty.
Today, Wang Teng Pavilion is located in Fuhe North Road, Nanchang, a heroic city, at the intersection of Ganjiang River and Fuhe Old Road. It is about 100 meters to the east and 300 meters to the southeast from Qingge (located 50 meters to the north at the intersection of the west end of Minde Road and Jiang Yan Road, close to Tengwangge Primary School, and has now extended to Jiang Yan Road).
Wang Teng Pavilion has 9 floors, with a height of 57.5 meters and a building area of 1.3 million square meters. Its lower part is a two-story pedestal 12 meters high, symbolizing the ancient city wall. The main pavilion above the base adopts the format of "Sanming and Seven Darkness". In short, there are three floors outside, but there are seven floors inside. Climb up the first-class platform along the north and south stone steps. There is a Biwahu promenade on the north and south wings. At the northern end of the corridor, there is a "Cui Yiting" with four corners and double eaves, and at the southern end, there is a "Yajiang Pavilion" with four corners and double eaves. From the front, the facade of the main building stands like a "mountain" leaning against the sky.

The two-storey high platform has a total of 89 floors, which coincides with the completion of the new building 1989. Around the high platform, granite railings are chiseled according to the Song Dynasty style, which is simple and heavy, in sharp contrast with the magnificent main pavilion. The secondary platform is supported by stone pads and integrated with the main hall.
From the main entrance of Gao Tai (due east), there is a bronze "Eight Monsters" Baoding. The tripod seat is made of white marble, and its height is about 2.5 meters. The lower part is a three-legged ancient tripod, and the upper part is a tripod-type tripod cover. This tripod is modeled after the "Eight Eccentrics" tripod in Beijing Dazhong Temple, which means that the stone opens.
Walking into the exhibition hall is like being in an art hall with the theme of Wang Teng Pavilion. On the doorpost at the main entrance, there is a couplet of "Lonely sunset in Qi Fei, autumn waters grow together", which is the font of the great man Mao Zedong. On the east and west sides of the sixth floor, there is a plaque with the word "Tengwangge" written on it, and the ancient masterpiece "Preface to Tengwangge" on the front of the hall is written by Su Shi, a great writer in the Song Dynasty.
In autumn, you can have a panoramic view of the Ganjiang River, and there are many tall buildings in Honggu New District. Listen to the sound of the river, wait for the golden afterglow of the sunset, and experience the magnificence of "Sunset and lonely Qi Fei, autumn water grow together".
