The research atmosphere of school education and teaching theory is strong and excellent results have been achieved. Excellent teaching papers and excellent teaching plans written by teachers were published in newspapers at provincial, municipal and district levels, and many articles won prizes in provincial and municipal education institutes and district education institutes. The provincial scientific research project "Research on the Effectiveness of Teachers' Morality and Style in the New Period" undertaken by Jingnan Middle School ended in June 2005 and was rated as an excellent provincial project. Under the guidance of the new curriculum standards, the study of classroom teaching art has become popular, and teaching competitions have won prizes frequently. In the provincial, municipal and district-level teaching speech contest held in autumn of 2006, Ji Shengyuan, a chemistry teacher in Jingnan Middle School, won the second prize in Hubei Province, the first prize in Jingzhou City for history teacher and the first prize in Jingzhou District for political teacher Tian Youjun. Chen Lihua, an English teacher, won the second prize in Jingzhou District. Teacher Zhang Zulian's thesis "Establishing the Position of Poetry in Middle School Writing Education" won the first prize of the State. Teacher Lu Tianming's thesis "Electromagnetic Induction Phenomenon" won the first prize in the city and the first prize in the Jingzhou High School Quality Class Competition; Teacher Qi Ming's "Design of Preparation Experiment Scheme" won the first prize in the city; Teacher Zhang Xiaofang won the second prize of Jingzhou High School Chinese Teaching Art Seminar; Teacher Jiao Qiongzhi was selected as one of the "Top Ten Famous Teachers in Jingzhou" jointly organized by the Municipal Education Bureau and the Municipal TV Station. In 2007, Mr. Sheng Yuan became a top-notch professional and technical talent candidate in Jingzhou, and Mr. Ding Dajiang won the "Red Candle Spectrum" of Jingzhou Science and Education Herald, the first prize of the teaching plan of the first composition teaching contest in Jingzhou and the second prize of the contest. In 2008, Teacher Li won the first prize in teaching and the second prize in design in the Jingzhou Young Teachers' Teaching Competition. Ding Dajiang, Shen Tan and other teachers published their teaching papers in Learning Daily, Composition Guidance Daily and Mathematics Guidance Daily. In 2009, Ding Dajiang's thesis was included in the book "Teaching Plan of Chinese Composition" by Changjiang Literature and Art Publishing House, Tan won the first prize in the English Teachers' Speech Competition, and Jiao Qiongzhi was awarded as an excellent teacher in Hubei Province.
