Based on Guan Hanqing's zaju Zhao's romantic life, the play tells the story of three women going to Bianjing hand in hand after all kinds of difficulties. With the help of Gu, the commander of the Imperial City Department, Qi Xin, the last sister, turned Yongfu Building into a big Bianjing Hotel according to her own struggle.
Zhao, who runs a tea shop in Qiantang River, was shocked to hear that her fiance, the new No.2 Ouyang Xu, wanted to marry the daughter of another contemporary official. Unwilling to die, she vowed to go to Beijing for justice. On the way, she met Gu, the director of the Imperial Capital Department who was born in the right door but was honest in nature, and was involved in a major case in Jiangnan. The two men met one after another.
Zhao saved Song, the "first zither god in the south of the Yangtze River" who was cheated for money and abused for sex, and Sun Sanniang, an unruly little cook who was driven away by harsh relatives. The three sisters walked hand in hand and finally arrived in Bianjing, their eyes full of excitement.
In order not to be driven out of Bianjing by another climber, Ouyang Xu, Zhao, Song and Sun Niangs went through hardships together, gradually developing a small teahouse into a larger hotel in Bianjing, exposing the true colors of ungrateful people, harvesting their sincere feelings and sentiments about life, and opening the door to fair atonement for thousands of ordinary women in Qian Qian.
