In the Republic of China 12 (1923), he hated military life and left the warlord army to make a living in Shanghai. He first worked as a stevedore at the dock, and then worked in the 15th cotton mill of Japanese merchant in Xiaoshadu, western Shanghai. In the summer of the Republic of China 13, I attended the Huxi Workers' Tutorial School founded by Li and Deng Zhongxia, and participated in the preparation of Huxi Workers' Club. In September of the same year 1, when Huxi Workers' Club was founded, it was elected as the communication committee member. Joined China at the end of the year. Soon, he succeeded Xiang Ying as the head of Huxi Workers' Club.
